Onsite Job: Sr. Environmental Engineer

Work Location: Radford, VA
Initial Contract: 6 months, potential for 18 months dependent on budget/performance
Work Schedule: 9/80
Education: Bachelor's in Environmental Science, Engineering, Biology, or Chemistry

Position Description

Manager of the Environmental Group in the Safety, Health, and Environmental Organization. This position will report directly to the Safety, Health, & Environmental Director. You will have overall ownership of the site's environmental program.

The job functions include:

  • Manager 5 Environmental Engineers involved in Air, Solid Waste, and Water Compliance

  • Direct integration between the site and the governing agencies

  • Serve as a liaison between the site and the community regarding environmental compliance

  • Stay ahead of an regulatory requirement to avoid surprises at the plant leadership level

  • Ensure all compliance reports are prepared and approved ahead of schedule

  • Participate in cross-functional teams to solve compliance issues

  • Serve as the environmental expert during MOD projects

  • Prepare the environmental budget

Skills Required

  • Min 5 years experience.

  • Must have managed people and projects.

Experience Required

  • Five years work experience in a related field.

Experience Preferred

Bonus skills/experience:

  • Waste Water experience

  • Any past work with the government as a client

  • Permit writing experience

  • Government compliance experience

Education Required

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, Biology, or Chemistry.

  • Five years work experience in a related field.

Education Preferred

  • A Masters in Environmental Science with 8 years applicable experience.
