Position Description & Qualifications If you love high profile and challenging projects supporting the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Panama City Division (NSWC PCD), Serco has a great opportunity for you! Serco is looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Engineering Technician. You will be supporting the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Panama City Division (NSWC PCD) in technical roles to integrate, assemble, and test unmanned maritime systems and ancillary equipment. This includes mechanical assembly, electrical wiring/connections, and testing systems in land and marine based environments. This position will report to NSWC PCD facilities located at Panama City, FL. This entry/mid-level position has great potential for growth into more responsibility and senior roles within an expanding work team. This position is contingent upon the availability to obtain/maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance. In this role, you will: * Provide on-going technical assistance and support to organizational programs and projects which may include hardware assembly, electrical integration, and testing of systems in production environments. * Collaborate with operational levels of company management, engineering, and vendor stakeholders. * Install, troubleshoot, and maintain military hardware and equipment. * Identify, analyze, and repair equipment failures; request the order and replacement of parts as needed. * Conduct standard research on existing systems and make recommendations for improvement in design and operation. * Typically report to a production foreman, program manager, or head of a unit/department. * Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by Serco Management and Government customers To be sucessful in this role, you will have: * The ability to obtain/maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance. * A High School diploma. * 2 years of relevant experience. * Has in-depth knowledge of circuit boards and soldering experience (Would need IPC J-STD-001G certification or equivalent). * Must possess a high level of proficiency in the majority of the following areas: mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electronic maintenance, fabrication and assembly. * Must have familiarity with operating basic mechanical hand and power tools such as wrenches, ratches, drill-presses, impact drivers, tap and die sets, and measurement equipment such as tape measures and calipers. * Must have the ability to efficiently troubleshoot mechanical problems within common systems in order to identify faulty components and perform replacements to meet mission critical deadlines. * Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds to assist with component installation and removal. * Must be able to operate pallet jacks, electronic stackers, and forklifts to move systems and components. * Must be able to support land and marine based testing in austere environments for prolonged durations. * Performs additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by management. Must be continuously flexible to changing requirements. * Excellent organization, communication, and interpersonal relationships with coworkers and customers.
* Proficiency in key Microsoft Office applications is required to include Word, Excel, and Outlook. * The ability to travel up to 10%.
