Job description

Electrical Superintendent – Data Center

Location: Manassas / Northern Virginia
Project Type: Hyperscale / Mission Critical Data Center
Employment: Full-Time


Position Overview

We are partnering with a leading electrical contractor delivering a major hyperscale data center project in Northern Virginia. Due to continued growth in the region, they are looking to appoint an experienced Electrical Superintendent to take a key field leadership role on the project.

The Superintendent will be responsible for overseeing electrical construction activities from installation through energization, commissioning and turnover, managing field teams and ensuring work is delivered safely, on schedule and to the required quality standards.

This is an excellent opportunity for an electrical construction professional looking to join a long-term data center program in one of the country's strongest mission-critical markets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead day-to-day electrical field operations on a large-scale data center project.
  • Manage Foremen, General Foremen, electricians and subcontractors across multiple work fronts.
  • Coordinate manpower, materials, equipment and installation sequencing.
  • Oversee installation of MV/LV distribution, switchgear, transformers, generators, UPS systems, busway, panels and associated critical-power infrastructure.
  • Coordinate electrical activities with the GC, MEP trades, commissioning teams and project management.
  • Review drawings, specifications, BIM coordination information and construction schedules.
  • Drive short-term planning, look-ahead schedules and manpower forecasting.
  • Ensure installations comply with NEC, project specifications and QA/QC requirements.
  • Manage electrical testing, equipment startup, energization and commissioning activities.
  • Oversee LOTO, energized work and electrical safety procedures.
  • Identify field conflicts and work with project teams to resolve issues before they impact schedule.
  • Track productivity, installation progress and project milestones.
  • Maintain a strong safety culture across all electrical field operations.
  • Support successful completion, punch list and final turnover of electrical systems.


Candidate Requirements

  • Proven experience as an Electrical Superintendent, General Foreman or senior electrical field leader.
  • Strong commercial/industrial electrical construction background.
  • Data center, mission critical, semiconductor or other complex electrical project experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience managing large electrical crews and multiple Foremen.
  • Strong understanding of critical power distribution and electrical infrastructure.
  • Experience with equipment energization, startup and commissioning.
  • Knowledge of NEC, OSHA requirements and electrical safety procedures.
  • Ability to interpret electrical drawings, one-lines, specifications and construction schedules.
  • Strong leadership, communication and field coordination skills.
