Lade Electric Supply, an affiliate of USESI, is looking for a Senior Electrical Supply Buyer to join our team. This position will be located in our Tucker, GA location.
The Electrical Supply Buyer is responsible for purchasing electrical materials and equipment while maintaining appropriate inventory levels, competitive costs, product availability, and strong supplier relationships.
Key Responsibilities
  • Purchase electrical supplies, including wire, conduit, fittings, breakers, panels, lighting, controls, switchgear, and related products.
  • Review inventory, sales demand, open orders, lead times, and forecasts to determine purchasing needs.
  • Create and manage purchase orders, including pricing, quantities, delivery dates, and special requirements.
  • Negotiate with manufacturers and vendors to obtain competitive pricing, freight, and purchasing terms.
  • Monitor and expedite purchase orders to prevent shortages and meet customer and project requirements.
  • Maintain appropriate inventory levels while reducing excess, dead, obsolete, slow-moving, and reserved inventory.
  • Develop strong relationships with manufacturers, representatives, and suppliers.
  • Identify alternative products and suppliers when materials are unavailable, discontinued, or have extended lead times.
  • Work with sales, operations, warehouse, and accounting to resolve purchasing, inventory, pricing, and receiving issues.
  • Monitor market conditions, manufacturer price changes, product availability, and supply-chain risks.
  • Maintain accurate vendor, cost, lead-time, and product information in the ERP system.
  • Evaluate supplier performance based on price, availability, delivery, quality, and service.

Qualifications
  • Purchasing, inventory, or electrical distribution experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of electrical products and manufacturers.
  • Strong negotiation, analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency with ERP systems and Microsoft Excel.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced distribution environment.

Key Performance Measures
Product availability and fill rate, inventory turns, management of dead and reserved inventory, purchasing cost and margin impact, supplier performance, PO accuracy, on-time delivery, and effective shortage prevention.
