Professional Service Industries, Inc. (Intertek-PSI) is a leading US based provider of construction assurance, testing and inspection in civil and commercial construction. Our broad service offering includes construction materials testing, geotechnical services, environmental engineering, industrial hygiene, and specialty testing.

What are we looking for?

The Senior Geotechnical Engineer will support the Building and Construction business by overseeing the Geotechnical and Construction Services projects in the California and Nevada Region and mentor Staff Engineers, Project Managers, and Field Engineering Technicians.

Salary & Benefits Information

The base wage or salary range for this position is $115,000 - $160,000. Individual compensation packages are based on a variety of factors unique to each candidate including skill set, experience, qualifications, and other job-related reasons.

What you'll do:

  • Direct and execute one or all of the following geotechnical project assignments but not limited to field exploration, laboratory services, engineering analysis, report preparation and report technical review.
  • Provide quality control review of proposals and reports and direct operations in a manner to consistently meet commitments to the clients.
  • Actively participate in business development and marketing efforts while establishing and maintaining client relationships related to technical aspects of our client assignments.
  • Responsible for the mentoring and training of senior and junior professional staff professionals.
  • Actively participate in relationship building with professional and technical organizations.

Minimum Requirements & Qualifications:

  • BS Civil Engineering (MS in Geotechnical is highly desired)
  • 10+ years of progressive Geotechnical experience with active project management
  • Professional Registration (P.E.) in California
  • Geotechnical Engineer License in California
  • Excellent communication, project management, and organizational skills are essential
  • Excellent understanding and knowledge of Geotechnical Engineering and related disciplines with the ability and desire to provide creative and practical solutions to meet the client's needs.
  • Valid Driver's License and reliable driving record (required)
  • Professional Registration (P.E.) in Nevada
  • Experience in mitigating landslides 
  • Experience working with public agencies (Public Works, DSA, USACE, etc.)
