Job description

About New Eagle

New Eagle LLC (neweagle.net) is an embedded control-systems engineering company headquartered in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Our portfolio spans the Raptor rapid-development platform, rugged production ECUs, OPEN ECU (ASIL-D capable, via our Pi Innovo acquisition), custom engineering services, and high-performance compute. We serve customers across the commercial vehicle, off-highway, defense, automotive, aerospace, marine, and industrial markets.

Position Summary

New Eagle is hiring a dedicated new-business development manager, a newly created growth role further developing the top of our sales funnel. Your responsibility is to fill the respective market pipelines. You will generate net-new opportunities in three high-potential lanes: Autonomy (autonomous systems), Life Extension (an established installed base of legacy controllers ready to migrate to our current platform), and Body Builders (companies that engineer equipment onto a base chassis to create a working vocational vehicle, such as refuse trucks and boom lifts). You will qualify each opportunity and support the transition to the SME account executive at an agreed stage gate. Your success is measured in doors opened and qualified pipeline created for the team.

This position will receive a competitive based salary plus commissions.

Territory and Scope

Element

Scope

Lane 1: Autonomy

Net-new autonomous-vehicle and robotics programs (AV trucking, off-road autonomy, robotics platforms)

Lane 2: Life Extension

An established installed base of legacy controllers ready to migrate to New Eagle's current platform, a defined and warm target list

Lane 3: Body Builders

The vocational vehicle body builder market — companies that engineer equipment onto a base chassis (e.g., aerial/boom trucks, refuse packers): body controls, electrified PTO, retrofit electrification

Handoff

Qualified opportunities route to the territory account executive at an agreed stage gate

Key Responsibilities
  • Outbound prospecting: research, contact, and develop net-new accounts across the three lanes. Build target lists deliberately, personalize outreach to each prospect's application, and sustain the daily activity volume that top-of-funnel work demands, with the resilience to maintain quality communications throughout the sales cycle.
  • Installed-base conversion: systematically work the legacy-controller customer list, a ready-made and high-affinity target set. Understand each customer's installed application, the risk they carry on an aging platform, and the migration path to the current platform, then build urgency around it.
  • Rigorous qualification: qualify fit before passing anything on: application, timeline, budget signals, and decision process. Capture complete market, offering, and product data at intake so the receiving account executive starts with a full picture.
  • Handoff discipline: deliver clean, fully documented opportunities to account executives at the agreed stage gate. Brief the receiving AE personally on every handoff, and measure yourself on team outcomes rather than personal attribution.
  • Marketing partnership: work campaigns, trade events, and the inbound lead flow with Marketing. Feed field intelligence back so campaign targeting improves each quarter.
Success Measures
  • New accounts opened: first meetings secured with net-new organizations per quarter, tracked by lane so all three lanes progress rather than one
  • Qualified pipeline created: the dollar value of opportunities passed to account executives that survive their qualification, the core measure of this role
  • Handoff quality: the percentage of handoffs with complete market, offering, and product data, and the conversion rate of handed-off opportunities downstream
  • Installed-base coverage: the share of the legacy-controller list contacted and dispositioned, measured cumulatively toward full coverage
Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • 2-4 years SDR, BDR, or new-business sales experience
  • Proven outbound prospecting track record
  • Disciplined CRM and qualification habits

Preferred:

  • Embedded controls, vehicle, or industrial-technology curiosity
  • Experience selling into engineering-led buying committees
Working Relationships

Reports to the Executive Sales Director. Works with every territory account executive (handoff partners), Marketing, and the technical sales-engineering team.

Equal Opportunity

New Eagle is an equal opportunity employer. All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, or protected veteran status.
