This position reports to: R&D Project Engineering Supervisor

Your role: Take on the challenge
  • Project team leadership: Leads and supports local and cross-functional project teams, including associated R&D project managers. Motivates and supervises internal and/or external resources to achieve all established objectives.

  • Project management: Responsible for planning, coordinating, executing, and delivering assigned projects end-to-end.

  • Value management: Ensures the team understands customer value in projects and takes action to guarantee customer satisfaction and manage stakeholder expectations.

  • Project execution and control: Makes sure project activities are effectively prioritized, estimated, and planned. Tracks and monitors progress against the plan to ensure commitments and key milestones are met. Ensures issues, conflicts, and obstacles are resolved at the appropriate level (team, project), escalating when necessary.

  • Managing uncertainty and risks: Ensures transparency regarding change requests, unforeseen results/events, and identified risks.

  • Projects, processes, and tools: Ensures projects follow strong execution methodologies and practices aligned with the desired development model (e.g., predictive/waterfall, iterative/agile, hybrid) and compliant with ABB's internal guidelines and procedures as well as applicable external standards influencing activities and objectives.

What you'll need:
  • Passion for project management: Demonstrated passion for leading projects and teams.

  • Leadership and collaboration: Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate teams and promote cross-functional collaboration.

  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in product development or project management, preferably in a technical field.

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in engineering, science, or a related field (preferred).

  • Language skills: Proficiency in French and English required (diverse international development team). French is required. English is necessary to communicate regularly with customers outside Quebec.
