MANTECH seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented Senior Database Administrator to join our team in Crane, Indiana. This is an onsite position.

As a core member, you will assist in the research & design, engineering, integration, testing, training, logistics, laboratory research, field engineering, and acquisition and operations analysis in support of a variety of Navy and Marine Corps programs and projects with a focus on defensive cyber technologies, mission assurance, and resilience capabilities for the tactical network environment. Your effort will go towards dramatically increasing the warfighter's effectiveness. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Architect, deploy, and manage high-performance database systems using SQLite or PostgreSQL, ensuring scalability and reliability for mission-critical applications.

  • Drive performance tuning and optimization initiatives, diagnosing and resolving bottlenecks to keep systems running at peak efficiency.

  • Establish and enforce comprehensive backup, recovery, and security strategies to protect data integrity and ensure business continuity.

  • Partner with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, design database solutions, and integrate them seamlessly into broader infrastructures.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 12+ years of proven experience as a Database Administrator, with deep expertise in SQLite or PostgreSQL environments.

  • BA/BS degree or High School Diploma and 6 years of additional relevant experience or Associate's Degree and 4 years of additional relevant experience may be exchanged in lieu of a required Bachelor's degree

  • Mastery of database design principles, including normalization, indexing, and advanced query optimization.

  • Extensive experience managing complex  databases, with a focus on backup, recovery, and disaster recovery planning.

  • Exceptional analytical and troubleshooting skills, with a track record of resolving complex database issues under tight deadlines.

  • Strong leadership abilities and excellent communication skills, with experience guiding and inspiring technical teams.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proficiency with additional database platforms such as MySQL, Oracle, or SQL Server, showcasing versatility in database management.

  • Skill in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) to automate routine database administration tasks and boost efficiency.

  • Familiarity with data warehousing, ETL workflows, or business intelligence tools to support advanced data analytics.

  • Expertise in leveraging database monitoring and performance analysis tools to proactively maintain system health.

Clearance Requirements:  

  • Must have a current/active Secret security clearance.

Physical Requirements: 

  • The person in this position must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time. Occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, or to communicate with co-workers, management, and customers, via email, phone, and or virtual communication, which may involve delivering presentations.
