Job description

Senior Program Manager – Financial Planning (Wealth Management)
Location: Hybrid – Springfield, MA (3 days onsite; Fridays remote)
Duration: 12 months (strong potential for extension)

Tier4 Group is partnering with a leading financial services organization to identify a Senior Program Manager to lead a large-scale digital transformation within the Wealth Management and Financial Planning space.

This initiative focuses on product and wealth technology modernization, including consolidation and simplification of legacy platforms into a unified digital advisor experience (Advisor Workflows). The program is currently in recovery mode and requires a strong execution leader to stabilize delivery and drive progress.

This is an immediate need with high visibility and impact.

Position Overview
The Senior Program Manager serves as the central execution leader for the program. This is a hands-on, delivery-focused role responsible for driving execution, enforcing governance, and ensuring alignment across business and technology teams.

You will lead a complex, multi-track program consisting of approximately 20–30 resources across business, technology, testing, and user experience teams, within a broader organization of approximately 80 Program Managers (70% FTE).

Key Responsibilities

Program Execution and Delivery
Own the integrated program plan including schedule, milestones, dependencies, and critical path.
Drive daily and weekly execution cadence including standups, sprint planning, demos, and retrospectives.
Lead program re-baselining efforts within the first 90 days to establish realistic delivery timelines.
Enforce structured iterative delivery including readiness criteria and entry and exit gates.
Manage track sequencing to ensure alignment across multiple digital workstreams.
Support go-live readiness and provide production support as needed.

Cross-Track Coordination and Dependency Management
Coordinate delivery across multiple concurrent workstreams.
Manage and proactively resolve interdependencies across business, technology, UX, and testing teams.
Facilitate weekly cross-track synchronization meetings.
Partner with architecture and engineering leads to ensure proper technical sequencing.
Maintain alignment between business and IT stakeholders.

Governance and Escalation
Lead Steering Committee (SteerCo) governance including agendas, pre-reads, decision capture, and follow-ups.
Ensure governance forums are focused on decision-making rather than status reporting.
Prepare and deliver updates to delivery leadership with clear program insights.
Manage risks, issues, and action items with proactive escalation and resolution.
Define and enforce escalation paths across the program.

Distributed Team Leadership
Manage delivery across US and India-based teams.
Ensure effective handoffs, communication, and execution across time zones.
Monitor offshore delivery quality and throughput.
Identify and address inefficiencies in distributed team execution.

Stakeholder Communication and Reporting
Serve as the primary point of contact for program delivery status.
Develop and deliver executive-ready reporting including velocity, risks, and milestone tracking.
Partner with business stakeholders including product and operations leaders to ensure alignment and decision-making.
Support UAT coordination and business readiness activities.

Required Qualifications
10+ years of Program or Portfolio Management experience in complex enterprise environments.
Proven experience leading large-scale digital transformation initiatives, particularly legacy to modern platform migrations.
Demonstrated success in program recovery or turnaround situations.
Strong experience managing multi-track Agile or iterative delivery models.
Experience leading distributed or global teams including offshore.
Strong governance, dependency management, and execution discipline.

Preferred Experience
Experience in Wealth Management or Financial Planning environments.
Experience supporting business partners such as advisors, planners, or operations teams.
Familiarity with product and wealth technology platforms.
Experience with Salesforce, data conversion, or migration programs.
Experience modernizing legacy systems and paper-based processes.
FINRA licenses or financial certifications are a plus.

Additional Information
Opportunity to play a key role in a high-impact transformation focused on consolidation and simplification of wealth technology platforms.
