Summary: The Sr. Insights Analyst for Foodservice plays a critical role in advancing how the Foodservice Sales organization leverages data, market intelligence, and customer insights to drive profitable growth. This role serves as the primary subject matter expert for foodservice insights, translating complex industry, operator, distributor, broker, and customer data into actionable strategies that support sales growth, customer engagement, portfolio optimization, and category leadership.

Operating at the intersection of Sales Strategy, Market Intelligence, Category Management, and Business Analytics, this role will establish the analytical frameworks, tools, and storytelling capabilities needed to elevate the organization from transactional selling to insight-led customer partnerships. The individual will partner closely with Foodservice Sales leadership, distributor partners, brokers, category management, marketing, and cross-functional teams to identify growth opportunities, uncover market trends, and develop customer-focused recommendations that improve business outcomes.

This position is a key enabler of the Foodservice Sales transformation agenda, helping shape how insights are developed, communicated, and applied to strengthen customer relationships, influence distributor strategies, and accelerate category growth across Trident's foodservice portfolio.

Essential Functions:

Foodservice Insights & Analytics

  • Serves as the primary subject matter expert for foodservice industry data, distributor reporting, market intelligence platforms, operator insights, and internal sales performance analytics.
  • Develops and maintain standardized analytical frameworks that enable consistent business reviews, customer planning, opportunity assessments, and category storytelling.
  • Translates complex data from multiple sources into clear, actionable recommendations for sales leadership, key account managers, distributors, and customers.
  • Partners with Finance, Category Management, Marketing, and Sales Operations to ensure data consistency, reporting integrity, and alignment across functions.

Category Strategy & Growth Enablement

  • Supports the development of category growth strategies for seafood and adjacent categories within foodservice channels.
  • Provides fact-based recommendations regarding assortment optimization, competitive activity, menu trends, pricing strategy, product mix, distribution gains, and innovation opportunities.
  • Develops customer and distributor-specific insights that strengthen business planning discussions and position Trident as a strategic category partner.

Sales Effectiveness & Commercial Strategy

  • Partners with Foodservice Sales leaders to support annual planning, sales strategy development, and customer prioritization.
  • Supports strategic distributor and operator reviews through customized analysis and actionable growth recommendations.
  • Enables sales teams to confidently utilize data and insights in customer presentations, negotiations, and strategic discussions.

Cross-Functional Capability Building

  • Functions as a champion for data-driven decision making across the Foodservice organization.
  • Collaborates closely with Marketing, Product Management, Finance, Demand Planning, and Supply Chain to connect insights to execution.
  • Supports sales teams on effective use of market intelligence, distributor data, customer analytics, and category insights.
  • Leads special projects focused on organizational capabilities, portfolio optimization, customer segmentation, and sales effectiveness.

This is a salaried exempt position with an annualized salary range of $115,000 to $140,000.

Trident Seafoods offers a comprehensive and quality benefits package. Full time employees may be eligible for discretionary/performance-based incentives, medical, dental and vision insurance plans, optional HRA/HSA, telemedicine, employee assistance and wellness programs, disability programs, basic life and AD&D, and a 401(k) plan with a company match, paid time off (PTO), 10 paid holidays each year, and paid parental leave. For full-time employees, the initial PTO benefit starts at 20 days per year, adjusted commensurate with relevant experience, front loaded on the first of the year, initially prorated quarterly based on hire date.Commuter programs are also available.

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in foodservice insights, category management, sales, analytics, or related commercial functions.
  • A bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, economics, or related field, or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to travel up to 30-40%.
  • Valid driver's license.

PreferredEducation & Experiences:

  • MBA or Master's degree
  • Additional years of experience in Foodservice Sales, Category Management, Business Intelligence, Consumer Insights, Sales Strategy, or Commercial Analytics.
  • Experience within seafood, protein, food manufacturing, distribution, or broader foodservice industries.
  • Strong understanding of foodservice distribution models, operator economics, menu trends, and industry dynamics.
  • Experience with industry data platforms, including Circana, Datassential, Technomic, MenuTrends, Mintel, distributor data sources, or similar tools.
  • Proven ability to translate analytics into actionable sales and customer recommendations.
  • Experience utilizing Salesforce, CRM Analytics, or other customer relationship management (CRM) platforms.

Work environment:

This role will require frequent travel across North America and to the corporate office in Seattle (should candidate be remote), up to 40%.
