Job description

Sr. Content Marketing Manager

CloudZero is in the process of scaling from category creator to category leader, and our content has to carry that shift. It's a critical aspect of how we create demand and how buyers first come to understand what we do. We're creating and publishing more than ever, but more content without a higher editorial bar and a strategy behind it won't move a market. This role will help us close that gap.

The Sr. Content Marketing Manager owns the quality and the strategy of everything we publish. You'll be a major contributor into decisions about what we create and why, edit writers and subject-matter experts into work that holds up to a reader who knows the subject deeply, and prove what actually drives engagement instead of guessing at it. You'll work with product marketing on differentiation, growth and demand generation on distribution, and our internal experts and customers to find the raw material worth writing about.

This is a hands-on individual-contributor role with a builder mindset. You'll set the editorial standard and the content strategy, then own how the market hears our narrative at a pivotal moment in how we go to market. We're looking for an exceptional editor and strategist who'd rather have a thesis to work against rather than a checklist to cross off.

Content Strategy
  • Own the content strategy: what to create, for which buyer stage, and why, tied to demand creation and campaign themes
  • Form a point of view on what drives engagement (timing, format, channel, topic), then test it, measure it, and make the case for what we do more and less of
  • Get three or four uses out of every strong piece instead of publishing once and moving on
  • Optimize publishing cadence and timing based on what the data shows, not historical habit
Editorial Quality
  • Own the quality bar for everything we publish, and hold it: content that holds up to a reader who actually knows the subject
  • Edit and elevate the work of writers and subject-matter contributors, pushing past first-draft and AI-generated output to something insightful and true
  • Bring or build deep-enough domain understanding to know when a story is real and when one small insight is being stretched too far
Storytelling & Demand
  • Find and shape the stories that genuinely engage humans and pull them toward the problems CloudZero solves
  • Partner with product marketing to turn differentiation and messaging into content that draws a clear line between CloudZero and the alternatives
  • Work with growth and demand generation to feed the top of the funnel and tie content to engagement and pipeline
What We're Looking For
  • 5-8 years writing and editing B2B content, with a portfolio that proves range, quality, and results
  • An exceptional editor with ruthless standards for the "so what"; you know the difference between content that reads well and content that's actually valuable
  • A strategic, analytical mind that forms hypotheses about engagement and uses data to prove or kill them
  • Content-strategy chops across repurposing, distribution, cadence, and getting maximum value from every asset
  • Genuine curiosity and the discipline to learn a technical domain deeply enough to write about it with authority (a journalistic or editorial-desk background is a strong plus)
  • Comfort writing for finance and technical audiences (CFOs, CTOs, or AI and business-transformation leaders) and their teams, ideally from a B2B tech or fintech background
  • An AI-first operator who uses tools like Claude to move faster and scale output, without letting quality slip into slop
Why This Role Matters

Content is how CloudZero creates demand: it's how buyers hear our story before a rep ever calls. This role owns whether that story is sharp, credible, and worth engaging with. You'll set the editorial bar, build the strategy, and turn a fast content operation into one that moves the market. We hire for the exceptional version of this role: curious, decisive, high-bar, low-ego, with the room to own it.

About CloudZero

CloudZero is the AI ROI Company. We built the financial control plane for AI: the system finance, IT, and engineering use to connect every AI dollar to the outcome it produced. Across every provider. In real time. AI spend is the fastest-growing line on enterprise P&Ls and the least understood. Only 14% of CFOs can prove AI ROI today. CloudZero answers the question no one else can: what did it cost to produce this outcome, for this customer, on this model. We're the first listed partner on Anthropic's cost and usage API. We've raised over $119 million, including a $56 million Series C backed by leading venture capital firms.
