Job description

The position may be filled at either the Senior BIM Technician or VDC Specialist level, depending on experience, technical authority, and demonstrated leadership

Role Summary

This role supports the owner's longterm stewardship of building and infrastructure information by ensuring BIM and CAD deliverables received from external architects, engineers, and contractors are accurate, standardized, compliant, and reusable.

This is not a design production role. Success is measured by information quality, standards compliance, and longterm usability of owner models and drawings.

Required Qualifications (All Levels)

  • 5+ years of experience with Revit and AutoCAD
  • Experience supporting construction, engineering, manufacturing, or facilities environments
  • Degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction, or CAD, or equivalent experience
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Understanding of BIM Execution Plans (BEPs), LOD requirements, and owner BIM/CAD standards
  • Experience working with deliverables received from external consultants or contractors
  • Experience with BIM 360 / Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC) / Forma
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently in a structured, standardsdriven environment

Preferred Skills

  • Dynamo, PyRevit, automation or scripting
  • Navisworks, Civil 3D
  • ACC/BIM 360 project setup, bridging, and issue tracking
  • Experience with legacy drawings and longlifecycle assets
  • Familiarity with record, closeout, or facilities deliverables

Key Responsibilities

  • Audit BIM and CAD deliverables received from external A/E and contractor teams
  • Upgrade and standardize models and drawings to align with current owner standards
  • Integrate disciplinespecific content into owner Master Models
  • Troubleshoot technical BIM/CAD issues, develop practical solutions, and document resolutions for inclusion in team procedures and the departmental manual
  • Maintain and update centralized drawing and model libraries
  • Support internal stakeholders by fulfilling drawing and model requests
  • Analyze legacy CAD files and map older standards to current standards
  • Track work status and contribute to operational metrics and KPIs
  • Participate in coordination, progress, and status meetings
  • Contribute to templates, documentation, and workflow improvements
