SOMI# 142501  Communications Engineer-Dimondale MI-Contract

Public Safety Communications Engineer 1. This role will be very sporadic and could anywhere from 0hrs to 20hrs/week as work comes in unexpectedly and will be sent to this resource for assistance. An exact work schedule can be discussed further in the interview process.

Top Skills & Years of Experience:

•              10+ years of experience in designing and implementation of LMR systems

•              5+ years of experience in design and implementation of statewide LMR systems

•              5+ years of experience in frequency planning and FCC licensing of LMR systems

•              Experience in planning and licensing frequency plans for statewide LMR systems

•              Experience in licensing conventional and trunked LMR systems in the most common LMR frequency bands (VHF, UHF, 7/800 MHz)

•              Understanding of Part 90 of the FCC’s Code of Federal Regulations (CFR)

•              Understanding of the FCC’s 4.9 GHz migration plan and re-licensing procedures

•              Knowledge of coordination rules and procedures with Canada

•              Experience working with one or more of the FCC’s certified business and public safety frequency coordinators

Interview Process: Interviews to be conducted virtually via Microsoft Teams. A screenshot photo of candidate will be required for any interviews as well as a vendor present at beginning of any MS Teams interview to validate candidate.

 

Work Schedule - Will work a hybrid schedule and should be local or able to relocate for day 1 on assignment.

MPSCS – Senior Frequency Planning & Licensing Specialist
This contractor will work remotely on a “as-needed” basis. Hours will vary depending on the agencies need at the time and the resource may have multiple days/weeks with no hours.
Experience Required:

  • 10+ years of experience in designing and implementation of LMR systems
