Description
As a Senior Commodity Manager, you will develop and lead strategic sourcing for Mechanical Components, Plastics & Packaging for Direct Materials primarily tied to our Oil Free Centrifugal (OFC) compressor. Strategies developed will support supply chain initiatives which include: supplier development, supplier capacity increases, cost containment, regionalization, trade working capital improvement, timely delivery, and quality. Strategies will need to be communicated clearly too large groups.
AS A SENIOR COMMODITY MANAGER, YOU WILL:
  • Develop and implement a Direct Material sourcing strategy to improve flexibility and supply assurance
  • Forecast containment and inflation projects for current and future years.
  • Establish goals to improve trade working capital with increased payment terms, lower inventory, and shorter lead times.
  • Develop a capacity and regionalization plan for each part of the commodity.
  • Establish agreements with suppliers.
  • Perform electronic sourcing bid events.
  • Collaborate with Supplier Quality to improve supplier performance (PPM).
  • Effectively communicate, lead meetings, make presentations, and use tact and professionalism at all times by using core competencies.

SCHEDULE:
This role is hybrid eligible with the requirement to be in office at least three days per week. Colleagues are expected to demonstrate a collaboration first mindset, which is the understanding that teams will work together in-person and colleagues should be flexible to adjust their hybrid days based on business needs. You will have an opportunity to work with your team and leader to determine when you should be in office to drive meaningful connections and to best serve our customers.
REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, & SKILLS:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business, or related field.
  • Seven (7) years of experience in a Procurement function or related experience.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • A strategic-orientated individual that achieves timely results.
  • Ability to review processes and provide feedback on how to improve the processes.
  • Proficient with word processing, spreadsheets and charts.

PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, & SKILLS:
  • Masters' Degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business, or related field.
  • Ten (10) years of experience in a Procurement function or related experience.
  • Minimum of four (4) years of experience in Commodity Management
  • Developing & Sourcing suppliers in Mechanical / Plastics / Packaging functions
  • Prior experience managing a large scope project. Technically proficient to read blueprints.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Ability to travel up to 25%
