Job Description

As a Commodity Manager within the Strategic Sourcing organization, you will drive end-to-end commodity strategies for direct materials that impacts business performance across Rockwell Automation's Integrated Supply Chain (ISC). This is an experienced individual contributor with enterprise impact, reporting to the Strategic Sourcing Manager.

You will:

  • Own, evolve and execute commodity strategies end-to-end
  • Influence cross-functional and business-level decisions
  • Drive measurable results across cost, risk, quality, and growth
  • Operate with high autonomy, escalating only for strategic trade-offs

You will work a hybrid schedule in either Milwaukee, WI or Mayfield Heights, OH.

Your Responsibilities:
  • Develop and execute commodity strategies aligned to business and ISC priorities
  • Lead sourcing events, supplier negotiations, and contracting decisions
  • Manage supplier performance and continuous improvement plans (quality, delivery, cost)
  • Partner with PLM, Engineering, Quality, and Operations to support NPI and lifecycle management
  • Ensure compliance and adoption of sourcing strategies across stakeholders
  • Monitor market conditions, cost drivers, and supply risks
  • Lead complex, multi-region sourcing strategies with enterprise-level impact
  • Drive should-cost modeling, cost transparency, and long-term productivity initiatives
  • Influence executive stakeholders on trade-offs across cost, risk, and speed
  • Develop and execute supply risk mitigation strategies, including dual sourcing and capacity assurance
  • Shape and optimize the global supply base and lead strategic supplier partnerships
  • Build and execute risk mitigation strategies (dual sourcing, capacity assurance, geopolitical risk)
  • Lead strategic supplier partnerships, including executive-level reviews and negotiations
The Essentials - You Will Have:
  • Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent Years of Relevant Work Experience.
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job opening.
  • The ability to travel 25% of the time.
The Preferred - You Might Also Have:
  • Typically requires a minimum of 8 years of related experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in sourcing, procurement, supply chain, or operations
  • Degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, or technical discipline.
  • Proven track record of owning commodity strategies end-to-end
  • Delivered quantifiable cost and performance outcomes.
  • Experienced in managing complex/global supplier networks.
  • Experience influencing senior stakeholders and cross-functional leaders
  • Experience with ERP systems (SAP preferred).
  • Knowledge of electronic/electro-mechanical/mechanical commodities or engineered products.
  • Managed suppliers and executed sourcing strategies.
  • Experience working in a high-mix and low-volume business within in industrial automation market segment
  • Recent experience working with data center demand and associated market disruptions
  • Experience working with business units and manufacturing plants located globally in different time zones
