Sr. Mortgage Collateral Specialist (Warehouse Banking)
 
Agility 360 is searching for experienced Sr. Mortgage Collateral Specialist for a permanent position with our established Banking client in the Phoenix, AZ. The Sr. Mortgage Collateral specialist is responsible for coordinating the operational aspects for an assigned pipeline of mortgage whole loan transactions, which will often be the larger and more complex transactions. Interacting with 3rd party diligence firms, and work closely with counterparties to clear conditions on loans for purchase or sale. Review collateral, trailing docs and custodian reports as needed. Direct servicing transfers and MERS updates. Act as subject matter expert for assignment of mortgages outside of MERS. Utilize strong spreadsheet skills to streamline the operations of the mortgage purchase team.
Job Responsibilities:
  • Interact with counterparties in the operational aspects of mortgage loans purchases and sales, which will often be the larger and more complex transaction. 

  • Interact with 3rd party Due Diligence vendors that review mortgage loans for the bank.

  • Utilize knowledge of underwriting to help resolve conditions.  Previous experience as an underwriter will be favorably considered.

  • Work closely with customers to clear conditions needed to purchase loans.  Work closely with investors to clear conditions on loan sales by the bank.

  • Review collateral, trailing documents, and reporting from document custodians.      

  • Coordinate servicing transfers.

  • Act as a primary MERS system user and subject matter expert for AOMs outside of MERS.

  • Manage assigned loan pipeline to ensure deadlines are met.

  • Serve as customer liaison to ensure customer expectations are met, service standards are adhered to, and issues are elevated and resolved in a timely manner.

  • Utilize strong excel/spreadsheet skills to streamline operations.

Experience:
  • 3+ years of experience in mortgage operations (processing, underwriting, closing, post-closing, or mortgage whole loan trading operations).

  • Past experience with mortgage loans that have small defects (Scratch & Dent) will be favorably considered.

  • Ideal candidate has experience in the operational aspects of mortgage whole loan transactions.

  • Knowledge of credit, compliance, and collateral conditions that are commonly found on TPR securitization reports is a plus.

  • Proficiency in: MERS, servicing transfer coordination, document custodian report review, collateral review and collateral tracking. 

  • Attention to detail.

  • Strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

  • Strong spreadsheet skills

  • College degree preferred, but not required.

  • Self-starter, self-reliant, dependable, ability to work within and meet specific time constraints.  Ability to take ownership of items and see them thru to completion.

  • Comfortable in a fast-paced work environment. 

  • Strong problem-solving skills.
