THIS POSITION IS LOCATED IN GREEN BAY, WISCONSIN
Basic Job Purpose:
The Machining Set-up Technician is responsible for preparing and setting up machines for production runs. This role ensures machines are properly configured, and tools are installed correctly. Monitor the dispatch list, and make sure machines have work, this includes 2nd shift production as well.
Assignment Functions and Responsibilities
  • Follow dispatch list to ensure machines have correct jobs
  • Setup machines according to job specifications
  • Validate tooling set up, program offsets and machining parameters
  • Make sure correct tooling is ready for machines
  • Have table and vacuum pods set up for machine's next run
  • Tear down previous job table and vacuum pods
  • Set up and tear down tools as needed
  • Return tools to tool room
  • Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work instructions
  • Install and align tooling, fixtures, and materials
  • Monitor machine operations and make adjustments as needed
  • Troubleshoot machine or tooling issues during production
  • Provide feedback to machine programming
  • Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards
  • Assist operators with technical guidance when needed

Minimum Requirements for Education, Skillset, Qualifications, and Experience:
  • Must be a US citizen
  • High School Diploma or GED (technical training preferred)
  • 2+ years of CNC set-up experience
  • Ability to read blueprints and use precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, gauges)
  • Knowledge of G-code and CNC controls.
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Mechanical aptitude and attention to detail
