Dewberry is seeking a Senior Civil Engineer/Project Manager for our Raleigh, NC office. The Senior Project Manager will have technical, project management, and market access responsibilities to lead land development projects in the commercial, industrial, municipal and residential markets. We’re looking for a highly motivated individual with a strong drive to lead a team focused on these markets in the private and/or public sector.

  • Lead design teams in all aspects of a given project including site layout, grading, soil erosion, detention basin design, storm sewer, water main, sanitary sewer, force main, pump station design plans, roadways as well as preparation of all associated calculations, reports and spreadsheets.
  • Collaborate with site/civil team to develop detailed design documents.  
  • Assist with business development/marketing/proposal efforts.
  • Oversee, train and mentor junior/mid-level staff.
  • Assist with developing and managing project budgets and schedules and leading project teams in permitting and construction activities.
  • Work closely with clients and agency staff, including attendance at public and/or construction meetings and also represent the company at other events as needed.

  • BS degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
  • 8-10 years of experience directly related to design and construction of land development and capital improvement projects.
  • NC PE license is required or ability to obtain within two months.
  • Strong computer skills utilizing AutoCAD Civil 3D, storm water modeling software, as well as Microsoft Office programs.
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work and interact with clients, maintain project budgets and schedules.
  • Ability to provide technical expertise to design staff.
  • Ability to coordinate project submittals and facilitate regulatory agency approvals.
