Civil Engineer, Entry Level - Raleigh, NC
Parrish and Partners is seeking an entry level civil engineer for our Raleigh, NC office. The individual should enjoy working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment and possess the communication skills necessary to coordinate with staff and other design disciplines. This person will work with staff on various transportation improvement projects including interstate/interchanges, roadway widening, bridge replacements, and new location projects.
Duties:
  • Collecting and analyzing project data
  • Leading or assisting in the design and development of roadway plans, specifications, design calculations, and technical documents
  • Calculating quantities and developing cost estimates
  • Producing a complete plan set
  • Working with other design disciplines
  • Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written
Minimum Qualifications:
  • BS or MS degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited university
  • 0 - 2 years of experience in the field of civil engineering
  • Previous internships with civil engineering firms are a plus
  • Familiarity with MicroStation, GEOPAK/Corridor Modeling, and OpenRoads Designer
  • Knowledge of AASHTO and NCDOT roadway design guidelines, standards and specifications is a plus
  • NCDOT highway design experience is a plus
