The Chief Estimator is responsible for the overall management of estimating activities for Enterprise Electricals Houston Division. This role oversees all estimating operations, ensuring accurate, competitive, and profitable bids while supporting company revenue growth and strategic partnerships. The Chief Estimator leads, mentors, and develops the estimating team, maintains estimating systems and databases, and collaborates closely with senior leadership to support long-term growth objectives.

Enterprise Electrical is a commercial electrical contractor committed to excellence, teamwork, accountability, and continuous learning. The Chief Estimator plays a critical leadership role in driving consistency, accuracy, and professionalism across all estimating efforts while upholding Enterprise Electricalโ€™s core values.

Essential Functions, Duties, and Responsibilities

Tasks may include, but are not limited to the following:

ยท Oversee and manage all preconstruction and estimating activities for the Houston division

ยท Supervise, mentor, and support junior and senior estimators

ยท Develop accurate, competitive, and profitable bid proposals for projects of varying size and complexity

ยท Review RFQs, RFPs, and Invitations to Bid for compliance with company standards, schedules, and competitiveness

ยท Manage estimating schedules, workflows, and priorities to meet company objectives

ยท Review quantity takeoffs for accuracy and compliance with specifications and drawings

ยท Communicate with customers to define scope, address discrepancies, negotiate pricing, and build long-term relationships

ยท Prepare contractual exhibits, scope documents, and quantified scopes of work

ยท Conduct internal estimate reviews and lead departmental training and development initiatives

ยท Develop logical assumptions for conceptual estimates and ensure consistency across takeoffs

ยท Maintain and manage the Accubid database, including assemblies and estimating standards

ยท Establish and enforce uniform estimating procedures and best practices

ยท Participate in project turnover and kickoff meetings as needed

ยท Analyze bid results and completed projects to improve estimating accuracy

ยท Provide analytical summaries and recommendations to senior leadership to support decision-making

ยท Attend project meetings and industry events to maintain and grow strategic relationships

ยท Maintain confidentiality of all departmental and company information

ยท Assist with additional duties as required to support business objectives

Qualifications: Education, Experience, and Skills

Required:

ยท Bachelorโ€™s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or related field preferred

ยท Extensive experience in electrical estimating and preconstruction leadership

Experience Requirements:

ยท 10 or more years of electrical estimating experience

ยท Proven experience leading and developing estimating teams

ยท Strong understanding of commercial electrical construction practices
