We are seeking a Senior Waterfront Engineer in our Grand Rapids, MI office.

Job Summary:

The Senior Waterfront Engineer will be responsible for managing and overseeing waterfront projects from conception to completion. This individual will need to have a strong background in civil engineering with a focus on waterfront structures and coastal environments.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepares project proposals and scopes of work.
  • Supervises, mentors, and develops engineers and technicians.
  • Performs quality control reviews of design plans and project deliverables.
  • Prepares complex technical reports, studies, and memoranda.
  • Supports business development and client relationship initiatives.
  • Ensures compliance with applicable policies, procedures, and performance standards.
  • Oversees project execution to ensure quality, efficiency, and schedule adherence.
  • Builds and maintains effective relationships with clients, public officials, contractors, and other stakeholders.
  • Leads project meetings and delivers technical presentations.
  • Represents the organization as a liaison with clients, agencies, and professional organizations.
  • Reviews competencies, performance, and priorities annually with their supervisor.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field

Licensure/Certification/Registration:

  • Michigan Professional Engineering (PE) license required
  • Specialty Certifications preferred.

Work Experience/Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of experience in waterfront engineering
  • Strong project management skills.
