Job description

KRM Generational Wealth Advisors,a premier Northwestern Mutual Private Client Group practice, is growing and seeking a highly organized, proactive leader to serve as our Business Operations Manager. Our team supports clients through every stage and transition in life, and we are committed to delivering an exceptional experience rooted in trust, integrity, and professionalism.


This role is a unique blend of executive support, operational leadership, and strategic execution. As a trusted partner to the firm's advisors, you will help drive key priorities forward, lead and develop operational team members, improve systems and processes, and ensure the business runs efficiently as we continue to grow.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Executive Support

  • Manage complex advisor calendar with fluid, shifting schedules
  • Handle inbound client service emails and requests, resolving them directly or delegating to appropriate internal departments
  • Serve as the primary communication bridge when advisors are unavailable
  • Communicate on behalf of advisors' time-sensitive needs
  • Other duties as assigned

Personal Assistant

  • Manage personal appointments and commitments
  • Handle personal correspondence and communication
  • Assist with household vendor coordination and service scheduling
  • Monitor and pay personal bills, as authorized
  • Serve as a trusted point of contact for personal matters requiring discretion and confidentiality

Human Resources

  • Lead recruiting, hiring, and onboarding for key operational positions
  • Assist with onboarding of new employees
  • Maintain personal records and employee documentation
  • Support payroll processing and benefits administration
  • Coordinate employee recognition and engagement activities

People & Performance

  • Build working relationships with advisors, support staff, and partners across the firm
  • Lead and develop the firm's operational team across departments, and play an active role in developing second-line department leaders
  • Coordinate the firm's meeting cadence - team meetings, leadership meetings, one-on-ones - and ensure each drives clear outcomes
  • Coordinate the performance management cycle: goal setting, reviews, and ongoing accountability
  • Foster clear expectations, strong communication, and ownership across departments
  • Help build a positive, high-performing culture


Operational Execution

  • Maintain and improve systems, workflows, and processes across client service and planning functions
  • Ensure operational consistency across the firm
  • Build infrastructure that scales with firm growth

Strategic Integration

  • Serve as the integrator between firm vision and daily execution
  • Translate partner priorities into actionable plans with clear owners and deadlines
  • Give partners consistent visibility into operational health, team performance, and emerging issues


Qualifications

  • 5+ years of operational leadership experience, including developing emerging leaders into management roles
  • Familiarity with EOS or similar operating frameworks
  • Proven ability to drive team accountability and performance
  • Strong facilitation and communication skills
  • High attention to detail, organizational capability and consistent follow-through

Compensation and Benefits

This is a full-time, salaried position based in our Edina, MN office. Salary range is $100,000-$150,000, commensurate with experience. A comprehensive benefits package is included as part of the total compensation package.
