Job description

Womble Bond Dickinson (US) LLP is seeking a Senior Business Analyst for any of our Womble locations. The Senior Business Analyst owns requirements definition and process analysis across the portfolio. This role partners with practice group leaders, operations teams, and engineering staff to translate business needs into clear, testable requirements that engineering can execute on. The Senior Business Analyst runs structured discovery, documents current and future state processes, and serves as the primary requirements owner for automation, AI, and platform projects from intake through delivery.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Lead requirements gathering sessions with practice group leaders, business stakeholders, and subject matter experts
  • Document current-state and future-state business processes using standard modeling techniques (process maps, swim lanes, data flow diagrams)
  • Translate business needs into structured requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria suitable for engineering execution
  • Own the requirements artifact for each project, maintaining traceability from business objective through delivery
  • Partner with the Technical Project Manager on intake triage, scoping, and backlog grooming
  • Facilitate workshops and working sessions to align stakeholders on scope, priorities, and tradeoffs
  • Identify process gaps, inefficiencies, and automation opportunities across practice group and operational workflows
  • Evaluate proposed solutions against business requirements and provide structured feedback to engineering teams
  • Support user acceptance testing by defining test scenarios, coordinating with stakeholders, and documenting results
  • Develop and maintain business process documentation, workflow diagrams, and operational runbooks for delivered solutions
  • Support change management activities including stakeholder communications, training materials, and adoption tracking
  • Serve as a subject matter liaison between business stakeholders and engineering during design, build, and testing phases
  • Produce clear, consumable analysis and reporting for the Director and stakeholders on requirements status, scope changes, and delivery readiness
  • Maintain a working understanding of the EA technology portfolio, including AI solutions, Power Platform automations, and integration platforms, sufficient to scope and evaluate new requests accurately
  • Identify and escalate scope creep, conflicting requirements, and dependency risks before they impact delivery
  • Contribute to the EA PnP by developing and refining requirements templates, intake forms, and discovery frameworks

Requirements
  • Demonstrated experience leading requirements definition and business analysis for technology projects, including current/future state process documentation and user story authorship
  • Strong facilitation skills with the ability to run structured discovery sessions, workshops, and working groups with business and technical participants
  • Proficiency producing process models, workflow diagrams, and data flow diagrams using standard notation (BPMN, swim lanes, or equivalent) using draw.io, Visio, or equivalent diagramming tools
  • Experience working in an Agile delivery environment, including authoring user stories, acceptance criteria, and contributing to backlog grooming
  • Ability to work across both business and technical domains; comfortable translating between stakeholder language and engineering requirements without losing fidelity
  • Strong written communication skills; able to produce requirements documents, process diagrams, and executive summaries that stand on their own
  • Experience supporting user acceptance testing, including test scenario definition and defect documentation
  • Familiarity with Microsoft 365 including Teams and SharePoint as collaboration surfaces
  • Exposure to AI, Power Platform, or workflow automation projects is a strong plus
  • Must have law firm experience.
