Description:

Inland Family of Companies and Colliers | Wisconsin is looking for a Bookkeeper to join our team at a premier client location in the heart of downtown Milwaukee. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with numbers, thrives in a fast-paced professional environment, and wants to grow their accounting career within commercial real estate.


You’ll be part of a collaborative, high-performing team supporting a complex and interesting real estate portfolio. If you’re detail-oriented, tech-savvy, and enjoy seeing how your work directly supports clients and projects, this could be a great next step.


What you’ll do

  • Handle tenant accounts receivable, including rent billing, work orders, utilities, and other charges
  • Process accounts payable, including invoice entry, coding, and vendor communication using our automated system, AVID
  • Manage payment approvals through our purchase order system and collaborate closely with internal teams
  • Assist with construction draw processes, lien waiver review, and job cost reporting
  • Record payments, track project status, and help analyze financial activity
  • Support monthly close activities, including accruals and recurring financial reports such as sales tax reporting, A/R commentary, and visual dashboards
  • Assist with variance research by working within the general ledger for a multi-entity organization
  • Support annual budget preparation and CAM reconciliations
  • Interpret lease agreements to assist with lease abstracts and ensure accurate tenant billing
  • Pull financial and operational reports from our accounting system, MRI
  • Collect and track certificates of insurance
  • Maintain organized electronic and office-based financial files
  • Provide general administrative support and act as a backup for team needs when required
Requirements:

What we’re looking for

  • Associate degree or accreditation from a two-year program with an emphasis in accounting required
  • At least one year of accounting experience
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required
  • Strong Excel skills and comfort working within the Microsoft Office suite
  • Technical aptitude and willingness to learn new systems
  • Experience with accounting software preferred, especially MRI or Yardi
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
  • High integrity and professionalism with the ability to handle confidential information
  • Strong communication skills and a service-oriented mindset
  • Entrepreneurial, collaborative, and team-focused approach to work
