We are looking for a passionate and mission-focused Senior Software Engineer to join our Geospatial Center of Excellence. This is a unique opportunity to be part of an exciting initiative at NGA, where modern software development practices are being used to address critical mission challenges for the agency and its users. You will be working with a modern technology stack, rapidly developing intelligence analysis products, and contributing to a culture of innovation. We seek candidates who are energized by modern architectures and eager to solve challenging client problems.

Required Skills:

• BS or equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Information Systems or equivalent technical degree.

• 10+ years of experience in software engineering/development, or a related area that demonstrates the ability to successfully perform the duties associated with this work.

• Experience designing, developing, and maintaining full-stack applications using modern JavaScript frameworks (React.js) and backend technologies (Java, Spring, Spring Boot).

• Ability to architect and implement scalable, resilient microservices-based systems aligned with business and technical requirements.

• Lead the design and development of RESTful web services and APIs, ensuring high performance, reliability, and security.

• Translate complex business requirements into technical solutions and deliver high-quality, production-ready code.

• Own the full software development lifecycle, including design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance.

Nice to Have:

• Experience working in AWS and utilizing specific AWS tooling (S3)

• Experience as a full stack developer to include Web Services, Database and Front-End Development

• Experience working with and developing geospatial information systems (GIS) to include open-source and proprietary geospatial formats
