APPLICANTS ARE ENCOURAGED TO APPLY AS SOON AS POSSIBLE*** Job Summary The Aging and Disability Services Division (ADSD) of Nevada Early Intervention Services (NEIS) is currently accepting resumes for a full-time Senior Physician - Pediatrician position in Las Vegas. At ADSD, we foster innovative thinking, teamwork, and a positive work environment.

Our mission is to provide high-quality, comprehensive support services across the lifespan, allowing Nevada's elders, children, and adults with disabilities or special health care needs to live independent, meaningful, and dignified lives. Early Intervention Services We serve children ages 0-3 with developmental delays and disabilities eligible for Part C services under IDEA Part C. We also support children and families with diagnostics, including autism.

Children enrolled in early intervention (EI) are entitled to medical services under CFR 303.13 of IDEA Part C. Essential Qualifications Graduation from an accredited school of medicine or one approved by the Nevada Board of Medical Examiners One year of internship in an approved hospital and three years of experience in the practice of medicine, or an equivalent combination Completion of an appropriate residency approved by the American Medical Association, or an equivalent combination substituting each year of resident training for a year of medical practice Board eligibility in a medical specialty or board certification in a medical specialty Job Duties Direct Services - The Pediatrician will complete physical evaluations of children, recommend appropriate additional services, and discuss with the family the child's developmental functioning, nutrition consultations, assessment results, recommendations, and outcomes. They will write comprehensive reports including test results, clinical observations, findings, recommendations, and services provided in client charts (both physical and electronic)

The Pediatrician will also facilitate all activities within Early Intervention services and discipline-specific software programs. Autism Diagnostics - The Pediatrician may conduct diagnostic appointments for children on the autism spectrum. Our comprehensive team conducts a battery of assessments, including audio evaluations and the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule (ADOS).

The Pediatrician, along with team members, will discuss and explain a synopsis of all assessments to the family, formalizing the diagnosis during the process. Additionally, a qualified staff member will attend each appointment with the family to ensure continuity and support. Teaching - Pediatric residents from the University of Nevada, Reno, and the University of Nevada, Las Vegas School of Medicine rotate through NEIS for their developmental and behavioral rotation.

This position supports collaboration with the university and residents to strengthen the knowledge base of future first-line practitioners. The Pediatrician will also offer training sessions to staff and/or parents 1-2 times per year on relevant topics. Community Outreach - The Pediatrician will provide community outreach to local pediatrician offices, medical groups, and hospitals to support collaboration and continuity of care.

This may also encompass participating in statewide commissions or coalitions to support stakeholder needs and state initiatives. Additional Duties: Maintain all records, both physical and electronic, in the agency-approved file format. Ensure that files are kept in a confidential and secure manner, complying with state laws, federal regulations, the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), and applicable policies.

Protect health-related information in accordance with federal, state, department, and division regulations and policies. Immediately report any potential HIPAA violations following established policies and procedures. Enroll, credential, and bill insurance as appropriate and in accordance with IDEA Part C regulations, state law, and applicable policies and procedures.
