Summary:

The Senior Product Manager leads the development and execution of product strategies that align with company objectives and customer needs around the Fiber Systems product line. This role owns the product lifecycle from concept through launch and continuous improvement, working cross-functionally to deliver innovative, differentiated, market-leading solutions.

Responsibilities:
  • Build and maintain expert knowledge of assigned Fiber Systems product lines, including Thickening, Screening & Cleaning Products.
  • Develop and communicate product vision, strategy, and roadmap for the assigned portfolio in the NA market, having responsibility for the entire life cycle including new product launches, business case studies, quick-start guides, and product training.
  • Partner with internal and external stakeholders to support product strategies and drive profitable growth.
  • Identify market opportunities through market research, customer intimacy, competitive analysis, and industry trends.
  • Define business cases, including needed investment, and prioritize initiatives based on customer impact and alignment with overall company strategy.
  • Maintain general understanding of the overall market including all Voith Fiber Systems products and process technology as well as competitive products, performance and positioning.
  • Serve as the technical product expert for Sales, Applications, Service, Supply Chain, Global Product Management, and customers.
  • Drive sales, profitability, and growth for new machines, rebuilds, upgrades, and wear parts in support of business line targets.
  • Develop and execute growth plans in collaboration with Global Product Management and the NA Voith team.
  • Recommend inventory levels and provide supporting justification to Supply Chain.
  • Support Sales and customers through technical presentations, trials, startups, data gathering, and troubleshooting.
  • Monitor market share, pricing, competitive technologies, and competitor products to support product positioning.
  • Provide North American market feedback to Global Product Management, including sizing limitations, application data, product performance, and competitive activity.
  • Support Applications with product dimensioning, sizing programs, best practices, and current market developments.
Required Skills/Abilities:
  • Pulp and paper experience is a must; preferably at least five years of experience.
  • Market-facing experience is a strong plus.
  • Strong technical skills and business acumen.
  • Ability to develop and support go-to-the market strategies based on delivering external and internal business impact.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to present business and technical topics effectively with various stakeholders. Ability to influence others is critical.
  • Willingness and availability to travel for customer visits and business needs. Estimated travel for the role is 50%.
  • Excellent organizational skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Preference is for the person to be located in Appleton, WI, however, there is flexibility for the right candidate.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and related software, with the ability to learn new systems and tools as needed.
