Job description

We have an immediate opening for a Sr. Architectural Drafter in the Tampa, FL area.

Summary: An experienced Senior Architectural Drafter focused on producing high-quality, buildable construction documents for residential builder clients. Responsibilities:

  • Develop complete, code-compliant Construction Documents for single-family and multi-family residential projects, including architectural and basic structural plan components.
  • Interpret and implement redlines from architects, project managers, engineers, and clients with a high level of accuracy and consistency.
  • Coordinate with outside consultants and trades (Structural Engineer, Truss Company, MEP, etc.) to incorporate their drawings, specifications, and revisions into the CD set.
  • Review drawings for quality control, constructability, and consistency across plan series, elevations, and options.
  • Prepare, update, and maintain permit-ready plan sets and respond to Building Department comments with clear, coordinated revisions.
  • Provide technical drafting support during construction, including revisions for field conditions, required repairs, and builder-requested changes.
  • Maintain organized digital files, drawing standards, and sheet setups to support efficient production and quick plan turnaround.
  • Work within deadlines in a high-paced work environment while

Required:

  • 5-8 years of architectural drafting experience in an architectural firm, with a strong background in residential construction.
  • Extensive experience preparing and editing Construction Documents in a production-home or similar environment.
  • Light commercial drafting experience is a plus but not required.
  • Proficient in all stages of Construction Document creation and review, from schematic layouts through permit-ready sets.
  • Associate or bachelor's degree in Architecture, Drafting, Construction, or a related field (preferred, not required).
  • Working knowledge of current Florida Building Code and related standards (Accessibility Code, NEC, etc.).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to document revisions and respond to internal and client emails clearly and professionally.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook); proficiency in CAD/BIM software consistent with office standards is required.
