Job description

InterImage is seeking a highly experienced Senior Applications Developer to support the Joint Operation Planning and Execution System (JOPES). This position provides senior-level technical and functional expertise supporting joint force deployment planning and execution for Department of Defense (DoD) mission partners.
Essential Job Functions
  • Provide senior technical expertise supporting the Joint Operation Planning and Execution System (JOPES) used to coordinate and execute force deployments for Joint Task Force operations.
  • Design, develop, enhance, and maintain JOPES-related applications and services supporting deployment planning and execution.
  • Develop, refine, and maintain tasked unit deployment plans in support of operational requirements.
  • Create, update, and sustain operational force modules to improve deployment accuracy, responsiveness, and readiness.
  • Analyze deployment requirements, command relationships, and force movement characteristics across joint and interagency environments.
  • Collaborate with military planners, analysts, engineers, and senior stakeholders to translate operational requirements into technical solutions.
  • Prepare and present technical and analytical deliverables, including briefings, white papers, and reports, for both technical and non-technical audiences.

Required Qualifications
  • 12+ years of application development experience supporting enterprise or mission-critical systems.
  • Hands-on experience developing applications using:
    • Java
    • Oracle WebLogic and/or Apache Tomcat
    • Oracle and/or PostgreSQL databases
  • Experience working in Agile and/or Waterfall development environments.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of JOPES and GCCS; familiarity with Newsgroups is a plus.
  • Working knowledge of DoD and interagency policies, processes, and operational planning frameworks.
  • Ability to provide technical leadership and guidance to diverse stakeholder groups with varying priorities.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to gather, evaluate, and synthesize complex data and develop actionable recommendations.
  • Ability to apply analytical and evaluative techniques to deployment planning issues, including joint command relationships, responsibilities, and deployment characteristics.
  • Comprehensive understanding of military force deployment planning, including deployment orders, planning, organization, and execution of joint force movements.
