Based in Brockton, Massachusetts, Atrenne is an innovative leader in system architecture for computing platforms, designing and manufacturing solutions for the military, industrial and telecom industries.
We are seeking a Sr. Application Engineer to join our inside sales team to serve as the critical link between customer requirements and our engineering solutions. Your primary responsibility will be to analyze complex customer specifications (RFPs/RFQs) and translate them into compelling, highly accurate technical proposals.

  • Quality Assurance: Proofread and edit technical documents for clarity, grammar, and adherence to company branding and formatting standards.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Technical Writing, Communications, or a related field with 5+ years of experience in technical writing, specifically within the aerospace, defense, or high-tech manufacturing industries.
  • Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with electro-mechanical packaging, ruggedized electronics, or bussing architectures (VPX, VME, SOSA) is highly preferred.
  • Analytical Skills: Exceptional ability to read and interpret complex scientific/technical โ€ข Key Skills & Attributes:
  • Synthesis: The ability to take "engineering speak" and turn it into a clear, benefit-driven narrative for customer decision-makers.
  • Detail Orientation: A meticulous eye for detail, ensuring no specification or compliance requirement is overlooked.
  • Project Management: Proven ability to manage complex document projects with tight deadlines and multiple contributors.
  • COMPUTER SKILLS Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Project Management software. Experience with SalesForce and proposal management software is a plus.
  • Mental Focus: High level of sustained concentration required for reading and analyzing dense technical data.
  • Environment: Typically a quiet, professional office setting.
  • Physical: Regularly required to sit and use a computer for extended periods.

This position is eligible for a hybrid work model that incorporates a mixture of in-office and remote work in an employee's schedule.
The target pay range for this role is $125,000 - 135,000 per year and eligible to participate in the Atrenne Sales Incentive Plan.
This position involves access to commodities, software, technical data or technology that is subject to U.S. export control requirements. Any job offer made will be contingent upon the applicant's capacity to perform this role in compliance with U.S. export control restrictions.
