SENIOR CONSTRUCTION SCHEDULE MANAGER
The Senior Construction Schedule Manager will primarily be responsible for developing and maintaining schedules for commercial construction projects. McGough uses critical path scheduling along with industry best practices and schedule department standards to track and maintain progress. The Senior Construction Schedule Manager will be responsible to attend weekly meetings to review and update progress, review subcontractors weekly work plans and both manage and update the overall project schedule with various project tracking tools. The position will also lead planning meetings periodically, develop progress metrics and reporting, and support the team in creating specific work plans for each scheduled milestone along the critical path.
Qualifications:
Required:
  • Four-year degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related degree
  • Minimum of 6 years relevant experience, or in lieu of education, 10+ years of relevant experience
  • Experience in construction phase of project lifecycle
  • Experience working as part of a design-build contractor
  • Skilled at developing and maintaining relationships with owners, subcontractors, senior leaders, and project teams.
  • Proficiency in construction scheduling or project management
  • Excellent communication skills

Preferred:
  • 10+ years of Construction Industry experience, including healthcare construction
  • Forensic scheduling and Time Impact Analysis management expertise
  • Knowledge with Lean construction practices, including pull planning and short interval or lookahead planning
  • Experience preparing project schedules using commercially available scheduling software
  • Advanced proficiency in Primavera (P6) Software
  • AACE Planning & Scheduling Professional (PSP) or equivalent preferred
  • Experience with cost and resource loading, earned value management and forecasting
  • Experience with change management, impact and delay tracking and fragments.

Office and Travel:
Hybrid available. Must have potential to be onsite in Rochester at project 10%
Responsibilities and Tasks:
  • Understand and implement McGough Scheduling Standards and industry best practices on projects within the program
  • Lead the planning effort alongside Project Manager and McGough Schedule Department. Collaborate and make recommendations to project management team in planning the work, including developing Work-Breakdown Structure (WBS), durations, and sequencing the work (hard restraints and soft restraints)
  • Analyze drawings, specifications, and construction related documents in preparation and acceptance of usable Baseline schedules for construction
  • Monitor project schedules being developed and updated by Operations staff and provide support and guidance as necessary
  • Interact with the Operations team and represent McGough Construction in the best manner to owners, subcontractors, and their representatives
  • Support the development of conceptual bid and proposal schedules with Operations staff and present to selection committees if required
  • Utilize analytics to identify and report on project trends and support with risk mitigation
  • Effectively cost and manpower load schedules for use during the execution of the project
  • Evaluate the actual construction status relative to proposed plan using earned value management techniques
  • Analyze and communicate the impact of potential and actual changes to the schedule
  • Prepare Time Impact Analyses per recommended practices by commonly accepted standards
  • Assist project teams to develop "what if" scenarios to explore alternate sequencing, document, mitigate or avoid schedule delays
  • Develop detailed construction schedules using Primavera P6
  • Interact with project teams to define scope of work to develop and update detailed schedules
  • Coordination with non-construction processes i.e. submittals, procurement, design and permitting progress
  • Engage with project team on pull planning and development of lookahead schedules in accordance with McGough Scheduling Standards
  • Participate in weekly subcontractor meetings
  • Identify and track project constraints and key interim milestones
  • Evaluate project schedule progress and performance and identify developing problem areas, using earned value management
  • Analyze critical path and constraints to determine effect of changes to schedule and recommend work-arounds
  • Responsible for special projects and other departmental duties as necessary

Position involves sitting for extended periods of time at employee's work station and during meetings as well as while traveling, either by plane or car. Employee will be required to visit multiple construction jobsites on a weekly or bi-weekly basis which may expose the employee to dirt, dust, uneven surfaces, outdoor weather conditions and extreme temperatures.
In alignment with our commitment to pay transparency, the base salary range for this position is $130,000- 160,000, excluding fringe benefits or potential bonuses. If you join McGough, your final base salary will be determined by several factors, including geography, location, skills, education, and experience. Furthermore, we place significant value on pay equity among our current team members as part of any final job offer.
Please note that the range provided above reflects the hiring range for this role. Hiring near the top end of this range would be atypical, as we aim to allow room for future salary growth. Additionally, McGough offers a comprehensive compensation and benefits package. This includes insurance coverage for medical, dental, vision, life, and disability. We also provide generous retirement plans, voluntary benefit plans, parental leave, substantial paid time off, and holiday pay.
