Innovate to solve the world's most important challenges
The New Product Introduction (NPI) Sourcing organization is responsible for the end to end sourcing and procurement process related to Honeywell Aerospace NPI programs. This is a genuinely exciting opportunity to join the NPI sourcing team as we are in the middle of executing sourcing strategies for the Advance Tech, Engines & Power Systems, Site Business Unit (SBU). We seek a Sr Buyer to provide functional leadership in the NPI procurement team with an agile and entrepreneurial mindset.
The Sr Buyer will be working closely with the Honeywell Aerospace Integrated Product Team (IPT) as it relates to NPI Advance Technology Programs. This role will be responsible for ensuring all requisition processing and PO creation performance metrics are being met within required time frames under conformity to applicable internal controls and compliance requirements. This role will serve as a NPI procurement focal for the assigned SBU and large/complex suppliers. The Sr Buyer will provide support in RFQ generation and maintenance, FAR15 procurement metrics, DLTP burn down, OTTR improvement, PD reduction actions plans for the assigned procurement categories for the Engines SBU. The Sr Buyer will create open order reports for Suppliers and work to drive schedule compression on NPI hardware. This role is crucial to transform NPI Sourcing and requires exceptional problem solving, program management and negotiation skills.
Responsibilities
  • Projects support, with heavy emphasis PO. placement and hardware fulfillment.
  • Supporting IPT when it comes to Advance Tech NPI Programs
  • Executing > 95% on-time to the product/program families' cost and schedule with Honeywell Milestone Reporting (HMR) accountability for Category 1 - Category 3 milestones
  • Work on product family level NPI sourcing strategy improvement initiatives to drive development speed.

Qualifications
MUST HAVE
  • Requires SAP experience in RFQ, negotiation, buying/procurement and hardware fulfillment: 2-3 years
  • Must be a US citizen or permanent resident

  • Bachelors degree in Engineering, Business, Supply Chain.
  • Must have experience in engaging with suppliers at the executive levels and Honeywell Aerospace leadership
  • High tolerance for ambiguity and ability to make strategic decisions in such an environment
  • Knowledge, skill and experience with wide range of industry standard manufacturing processes for mechanical components
  • Possess financial acumen, understand business metrics and how to impact results with ability to do NPV, IRR, next best alternative analysis.
  • Clear and concise verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate project status and program needs across different levels of the organization and different operating environments.
  • Broad experience in operational procurement
  • Able to resolve problems, transition and transform sourcing activities.

The annual base salary range for this position in California is $92,900 - $116,200. Please note that this salary information serves as a general guideline. Honeywell considers various factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate's work experience, education and training, key skills, as well as market and business considerations.
