Job description

Monroe Tractor is a well-known and respected construction equipment and agricultural equipment dealer with over 75 years of experience servicing the northeastern US. With 18 locations throughout New York, Pennsylvania, Vermont, Connecticut, and Massachusetts, we pride ourselves on providing best-in-class sales and support to over 15,000 hardworking customers. Since our founding in 1951, the industries we serve have been transformed by the technologies, equipment, and capabilities undreamed of decades ago. We are seeking a motivated, hands-on Selling Branch Manager to lead our Vermont equipment dealership location. This is a working management role for someone who enjoys both leading a small team and actively selling equipment in the field. The Selling Branch Manager will oversee the day-to-day operations of a small branch consisting of inside staff and outside service technicians, while also being responsible for developing customer relationships, driving equipment sales, and growing revenue within the territory. This position is ideal for someone who understands agriculture, construction equipment, and rural customer relationships, and who thrives in a fast-paced, relationship-driven environment. **The compensation package for this position is a combination of base salary plus commissions based on the selling aspect of the job.
Key Responsibilities
Branch Leadership & Operations
  • Oversee daily operations of the branch, including sales, service coordination, rentals, and customer support
  • Lead and support a small branch team consisting of inside staff and outside road technicians
  • Maintain a positive, productive, and accountable work environment
  • Coordinate workflow between sales, service, and parts functions
  • Ensure the branch operates efficiently, professionally, and safely
  • Monitor inventory, equipment presentation, and overall branch appearance
  • Handle customer issues and help resolve service-related concerns
Equipment Sales & Business Development
  • Actively sell agricultural equipment, CASE construction equipment, attachments, and related products
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with farmers, contractors, municipalities, and commercial customers
  • Spend time in the field meeting with customers and identifying sales opportunities
  • Prepare quotes, structure deals, and close equipment sales
  • Work with financing partners and manufacturer programs to support customer purchases
  • Grow market share and expand the branch customer base
  • Maintain a strong sales pipeline and follow-up process
Revenue & Performance Expectations
  • Meet or exceed assigned equipment sales and branch revenue goals
  • Drive profitable growth in equipment sales, rentals, and customer accounts
  • Monitor branch performance and identify opportunities for improvement
  • Work closely with ownership and leadership on sales strategy and territory development
Qualifications
  • Previous experience in agricultural equipment, construction equipment, heavy equipment, or related sales preferred
  • Leadership or management experience preferred, especially in a small-team environment
  • Strong relationship-building and customer service skills
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
  • Comfortable working both in the office and in the field with customers
  • Understanding equipment financing, quoting, and deal structure is a plus
  • Mechanical aptitude or familiarity with equipment service operations beneficial
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
