Job Summary

This role will oversee the companys purchasing operations, leading a team of Buyers responsible for sourcing and procurement across multiple locations. The Purchasing Manager will drive supplier performance, cost efficiency, and standardization of purchasing processes to ensure timely delivery of quality materials and services. This role will work closely with plant leadership, supply chain, and finance to support operational goals and company growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the Buyer team across multiple facilities, providing guidance, training, and performance management.
  • Develop and implement sourcing strategies to achieve cost savings, efficiency, and quality targets.
  • Manage vendor relationships and performance, including negotiating contracts, terms, and pricing agreements.
  • Oversee purchasing processes to ensure timely procurement of materials, supplies, and services to meet production schedules.
  • Coordinate with operations, scheduling, engineering, and customer service to anticipate material needs and resolve supply issues.
  • Monitor and analyze inventory levels, safety stock, and lead times to optimize purchasing decisions.
  • Ensure data accuracy within the ERP system, including pricing, supplier information, and order tracking.
  • Identify and onboard new suppliers while evaluating current suppliers for continuous improvement opportunities.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Bachelors degree in Business, Supply Chain, or a related field preferred.
  • 710 years of purchasing or supply chain experience, including at least 3 years in a leadership role.
  • Strong understanding of procurement, sourcing, inventory control, and vendor management.
  • Experience in manufacturing or multi-site operations preferred.
  • Excellent negotiation and contract management skills.
  • Proficient in ERP systems and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across departments.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
