Job description

Company Description Self-employed athletic nutrition coaches provide customized nutrition guidance to help clients improve performance, recovery, and overall health. This type of practice typically serves athletes at various levels, from recreational to competitive, across multiple sports. Coaches often work independently, building their own client base and designing services that fit individual goals and lifestyles. The work is generally flexible and can be conducted remotely through virtual consultations and digital tools. This setting offers autonomy in scheduling, service design, and professional development.

Role Description This is a remote contract role for an Athletic Nutrition Coach. The coach will conduct virtual consultations to assess clientsโ€™ current eating habits, training routines, and performance goals, then design individualized nutrition plans and meal guidelines. Day-to-day tasks include monitoring client progress, adjusting plans based on training cycles and health changes, and providing ongoing education on fueling, hydration, and recovery strategies. The role also involves maintaining clear documentation, communicating regularly via digital channels, and potentially creating basic educational materials or resources for clients. Coaches are expected to manage their own schedules, client communication, and follow-up to ensure consistent support and results.

Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge of sports nutrition, exercise physiology, and performance-focused meal planning.
  • Experience conducting client assessments, setting goals, and creating individualized nutrition programs.
  • Ability to communicate complex nutrition concepts clearly and motivate clients through remote coaching.
  • Comfort using online tools for scheduling, video calls, documentation, and secure client communication.
  • Relevant certification or degree in nutrition, dietetics, sports science, or a related field (licensed or registered credentials are an advantage).
  • Demonstrated professionalism, time management skills, and ability to work independently on a contract basis.
  • Experience working with athletic or active populations is preferred; familiarity with different sports and training demands is beneficial.
