Job description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry position in Waterloo, IA, requiring at least 24 months of med/surg or telemetry experience and prior travel nursing experience within the last 12 months.
Job Details
โ€ข 25-bed telemetry tech monitoring unit within a hospital setting,
โ€ข Patient ratio of 1:5-6,
โ€ข Telemetry patient population requiring cardiac monitoring, including rhythm strip interpretation and dysrhythmia reads,
โ€ข Drips/titrations include: heparin, insulin, diuretic infusions, amiodarone, diltiazem, and 3% saline infusion,
โ€ข Post-op surgical care cases include EGD, colonoscopy, cardiac cath, pacemaker, and minor surgery,
โ€ข Epic EMR - experience required,
โ€ข Night shift: 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM, 3x12-hour shifts per week (36 hrs/week),
โ€ข Every other weekend required,
โ€ข No on-call responsibilities,
โ€ข Floating required across med/surg and post-op units,
โ€ข Holiday rotation required,
Job Requirements
โ€ข Active IA RN license or compact/multistate RN license required at time of consideration,
โ€ข Current BLS certification (AHA or ARC) required,
โ€ข Current ACLS certification (AHA or ARC) required,
โ€ข Minimum 24 months of experience in Med/Surg, Telemetry, or Med/Surg Tele required,
โ€ข Post-op surgical care experience (EGD, colonoscopy, cardiac cath, pacemaker, minor surgery) required,
โ€ข Experience managing drips/titrations including heparin, insulin, diuretic infusions, amiodarone, diltiazem, and 3% saline infusion required,
โ€ข Ability to confidently read EKGs/ECGs, rhythm strips, and identify dysrhythmias required,
โ€ข Epic EMR experience required,
โ€ข Must have completed at least one travel nursing assignment within the previous 12 months,
โ€ข Valid driver's license required,
โ€ข Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position,
Additional Information
โ€ข Provide telemetry nursing care including continuous cardiac monitoring and drip management to med/surg patients,
โ€ข Float responsibilities may include post-op and general med/surg units,
โ€ข A supervisory performance evaluation or professional reference from within the past 2 years is preferred,
โ€ข Candidates who were previously employed at this facility within the past 12 months may not be eligible for consideration,
โ€ข First-time travelers will not be considered - prior travel experience within the last 12 months is required
