Job description

Role summary / purpose

We are seeking an experienced Telecommunications Project Manager to oversee and coordinate infrastructure projects supporting generation, transmission, telecom, solar, facilities, real estate, and regional IT enterprise work. This role will focus primarily on smaller-scope initiatives and will require strong project controls, communication, documentation, and stakeholder coordination skills.

The successful candidate must be comfortable managing a high volume of active projects, working closely with internal telecom teams, field resources, product owners, and business customers to ensure work is planned, communicated, and completed within agreed-upon expectations.

Key responsibilities
  • Manage approximately sixty active projects simultaneously, ensuring work progresses efficiently and deadlines are met.
  • Coordinate project scope, schedules, milestones, risks, dependencies, action items, and follow-up activities.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of project communications, decisions, updates, and actions in JIRA.
  • Collaborate with internal telecom, engineering, field, and implementation teams to schedule and execute work within business timelines.
  • Provide concise weekly stakeholder updates that summarize current status, upcoming work, risks, dependencies, and expected activity over the next two to four weeks.
  • Partner closely with product owners to resolve questions, remove obstacles, and support successful project delivery.
  • Support customer kickoff meetings, project planning discussions, and occasional site visits.
  • Develop a working understanding of the telecom products and services provided to internal business customers.
  • Track and report project budgets, forecasts, estimates, purchase requests, invoices, and cost variances as needed.
Requirements โ€“ education & experience
  • Substantial project management experience, preferably supporting infrastructure, utility, telecom, construction, facilities, generation, transmission, solar, or renewable energy projects.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision while managing multiple competing priorities.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage a high volume of concurrent projects.
  • Proficiency in managing and reporting project budgets for assigned work.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to provide clear status updates to stakeholders and leadership.
  • Experience planning, facilitating, and documenting project meetings, including decisions, risks, action items, and follow-up activities.
  • Valid driver's license.

  • Familiarity with one or more of the following telecom disciplines:
    • Data networking, including switches and routers.
    • Transport equipment, including Ciena or SEL ICON.
    • Radio Frequency technologies, including Cambium or point-to-point microwave.
    • DC power systems, including -48VDC and 130VDC.
    • Fiber optics, including construction and single-mode terminations.
Employment details โ€“ type, location, hours

This position will be based primarily in St. Petersburg, with occasional travel required for customer meetings, site visits, and field coordination. The selected candidate should be prepared to support projects in any region, as the specific area of responsibility may vary based on business need.

Commitment to work in the office three days per week, with specific onsite days required.

This contingent worker will be performing physical labor, will be required to wear PPE (Personal Protective Equipment), will work in field and office environments, will be required to lift as part of their duties, and will be required to climb ladders.
