Description

We are seeking a highly detail-oriented and experienced Special Security Representative (SSR) to support the Defense Special Security System and DoD Acquisition Security operations. In this role, you will provide critical Special Security Office (SSO) functional services, ensuring the protection of Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI), managing personnel security clearances, and maintaining the physical security of accredited facilities (SCIFs).

The Applicant will support the following areas:

  • Personnel Security & Access Management - Manage and update government databases including DISS, Scattered Castles, NBIS, and local personnel trackers. Process SCI access nominations, conduct pre-screening interviews, and coordinate eligibility upgrades with the Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency (DCSA) Adjudication and Vetting Services (AVS).
  • Facility & SCIF Operations - Implement physical security standards for SCIFs in accordance with ICD 705. Review and/or Manage Fixed Facility Checklists (FFCs), TEMPEST addendums, and automated access control/intrusion detection systems (IDS). Provide access control, maintain visitor logs, and assist with alarm responses. Establish/Review Construction/Modification Security Plans (CSP/MSP), Co-Utilization Agreements, Concept Approvals prior to submission. Modify/Change LKM7000/CDX-XX series combinations.
  • Security Education & Training - Conduct initial SCI indoctrinations, periodic refresher training, and final debriefings. Administer specialized briefings for NATO, Critical Nuclear Weapons Design Information (CNWDI), and Restricted Data.
  • Incident Response & Compliance - Assist with preliminary inquiries for security incidents involving SCI. Perform self-inspections, draft IDS reports, and ensure all personnel security files (SF-312, foreign travel reports) are maintained per privacy guidelines.
  • Administrative & Program Support - Monitor Electronic Task Management Tools (TMT) to track SSO actions. Draft weekly activity reports, consolidate statistical data, and maintain the SSO SharePoint site and Electronic Files Management System.

  • Experience: 6-10 years' relevant experience in DoD Special Security
  • Security Clearance: Must possess an Active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility.
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of Intelligence Community Directive (ICD) 705 Tech Specs v 1.5.1, DoD Manual 5105.21 Vol 1-3 (SCI Administrative Security Manual), DoD Manual 5200.02(Personnel Security Program). DoD Manual 5205.07 Special Access Program Security Manual; 32 Code of Federal Regulation Part 117, NISPOM; and DoD Manual 5200.01 Vol 1-4 (DoD Information Security Program)
  • Hands-on experience with DoD security databases of record: Defense Information System for Security (DISS), Scattered Castles, National Background Investigations System (NBIS) and Knowledge of DODIIS Enterprise Record Message Traffic (RMT)Must be able to provide daily supervision and direction to support teams

Strong capability to draft, review, and edit official DoW correspondence: emails, MFRs, etc., and conduct comprehensive security briefings for military, civilian, and contractor personnel.
