The Role

As a Security Representative, you will have a pivotal role in delivering top-tier customer service and security operations that showcase our dedication to outstanding performance. You will be required to work 12-hour rotating shifts including days, nights, weekends and holidays to meet business needs.
The Expertise and Skills You Bring
As a Security Representative, you will be given various tasks to guarantee the safety and security of our facilities, associates, and visitors. Your responsibilities will be diverse and pivotal in ensuring the safety and security of our facilities, associates, and visitors. They include Performing first-responder rescue activities in medical or facility emergency situations, acting as the primary decision maker or incident commander as needed.
  • Applying life safety equipment like fire extinguishers, first aid supplies, and radios.
  • Demonstrating a composed and thoughtful attitude in high-pressure situations, while also being capable of prolonged periods of walking or standing in one place.
  • Greeting visitors and associates, ensuring a professional appearance and demeanor while following security protocols.
  • Facilitating access control, life safety solutions, and proactive incident management and mitigation.
  • Delivering customer-centric experiences when interacting with visitors, vendors, associates, and customers, ensuring compliance with company standards and policies.
  • Taking the initiative to conduct inspections, assessments, and reviews to guarantee the functionality of security and life safety equipment.
  • Providing direct and ongoing support to associates and guests requiring accommodations or experiencing external threats impacting workspace safety.
  • Monitoring threat intelligence and understanding how internal and external risk environments impact site security procedures.

To succeed in this role, you should meet the following qualifications:
  • A Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience is strongly preferred, though equivalent life/work experience (such as military service) will be considered.
  • 1-3 years of prior experience in security, customer service, or hospitality.
  • Familiarity with current security technology and systems, with basic computer proficiency.
  • Understanding of physical security principles.
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships in a business setting.
  • Diligent, capable of adhering to standard operating procedures.
  • Demonstrated ability to exercise good judgment under ambiguous circumstances.
  • Ability to function autonomously and collaboratively within a team setting.
  • Proficiency in common computer software and the capability to acquire knowledge of specialized programs/applications.
  • Conducting focused patrols on foot or by vehicle within assigned areas of responsibility.
  • Conducting regular inspections, audits, and reviews to verify the functionality of security equipment and the safety of workspaces.
  • Applying electronic and mechanical devices to monitor, record, and report abnormal conditions.
  • Producing accurate reports and records of activity and incidents.

The Team
The Fidelity Security Team is a part of Global Security and Investigations (GSI) that works around the clock to keep Fidelity associates, customers, and assets safe, through security, intelligence, safety, and business continuity operations. Global Security Operations provides physical and technical security services to Fidelity associates, customers, and assets in the Boston region. Our security representatives are highly trained to respond to safety/security related concerns and monitor state-of-the art security systems.

Fidelity's Onsite Working Model
Fidelity is transitioning to a full-time onsite working model through a phased rollout across regions and roles. Currently, some roles and locations require 100% onsite presence, while others require less. Onsite expectations are likely to evolve as the rollout continues. This transition does not apply to fully remote roles.
The base salary range for this position is $48,000-91,000 USD per year.
Placement in the range will vary based on job responsibilities and scope, geographic location, candidate's relevant experience, and other factors.
Base salary is only part of the total compensation package. Depending on the position and eligibility requirements, the offer package may also include bonus or other variable compensation.
