Job Description Summary:

Position Responsibilities
  • Receives and greets patients, visitors, vendors and employees in a professional and courteous manner, handling general inquiries as appropriate.
  • Communicates and directs patient's concerns to the appropriate managers/directors.
  • Wears appropriate PPE at all times (surgical masks, gloves, face shield).
  • Ensures that all patients, visitors, vendors and employees are wearing an appropriate surgical mask or protective mask prior to entry into the hospital.
  • Maintains patient privacy and confidentiality at all times, adhering to HIPAA.
  • Administers basic health screening questionnaire to each patient, visitor or vendor prior to entry into facility.
  • Using the provided thermometer, administers temperature readings and records temperature on the screening questionnaire.
  • Be familiar with protocol if anyone answers YES to any screening question.
  • Directs patient to screening area for further testing by clinical personnel.
  • Accepts belongings brought in by family members for inpatients and fills out appropriate "belongings form."
  • Be familiar with and enforce visitation policy.
  • Monitors patient and visitor needs and the workflow of the hospital lobbies and entrances.
  • Able to remain standing for long stretches of time.
  • In the event that a family member or visitor wishes to speak to a patient advocate, contact the Administrative Patient Representative @ ext. 52990 ext. 4.
  • Able to use a 2 way radio.
  • Visitor badging - able to utilize the visitor badging system and issue badge to patients and visitors.
  • Monitors employee and contract vendors/badge compliance for facility access.
  • Assists with end of shift procedures/duties, cleaning of equipment, packaging of screening station materials and storing in assigned area.
