You'll patrol the hospital, respond to calls for service, assist with difficult or high-risk situations, and proactively prevent theft or vandalism-while delivering strong customer service every step of the way.
This is a 0.7 FTE evening-shift position (56 hours per pay period) with an every weekend rotation. Starting pay is $25.88 per hour and increases with experience, plus shift differentials and a comprehensive benefits package that includes tuition reimbursement, a 403(b), and annual merit increases. Responsibilities
- Patrols designated areas according to established procedures and documents patrols in daily shift reports.
- Documents daily activities in report writing system.
- Provides assistance to patients, visitors and staff.
- Responds to calls for services.
- Assists in the control (often physical) of potentially violent individuals which requires strength, stamina, flexibility and critical thinking.
- Works with potentially unpredictable individuals requiring that teamwork and communication with other security officers.
- Maintains knowledge of, and complies with, all relevant laws, regulations, policies, procedures and standards.
- Actively participates in creating and implementing improvements.
Required Qualifications
Experience/Education
One of the following is required for hire:
- 2 years of security, military, or law enforcement experience
- Associate's degree in a related field and 1 year of security, military or law enforcement experience
- Bachelor's degree in a related field
Licensure
- Drivers License Valid Class D Driver's License and DMV record which meets Fairview Insurability requirements for assignments that require the operation of a motor vehicle
Organizational Expectations
- Pass pre-assignment training within probationary period.
Preferred Qualifications
- 2 years Hospital Security Experience
- Certified Peace Officer (POST)
- Emergency Med Tech Basic (EMT-B)
