Security Operations Center Operator - Omaha, NE

Per Mar Security Services is seeking Experienced Security Operations Operator. The hourly rate of pay begins at $21.06.

Purpose Statement: “You will work in a fast-paced environment, leading a shift of up to 14+ Security Officers, to provide customers and employees with a safe and secure environment by proactively: controlling access to sites, monitoring CCTV, recording and responding to alarms, reviewing visitor management systems, and responding to emergency situations intelligently and efficiently.  You will also act as the central hub of information for all On-Shift Security Officers, answering any and all question they may have, allowing them to meet the needs of the client as fully and efficiently as possible.”

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:- The Operator will:

  • Use the Genetec system to monitor, record, and respond to alarms at multiple sites, simultaneously.
  • Use CCTV to look for suspicious activity, monitor any on-going incidents, and report equipment issues to the Client.
  • Use the Genetec system to monitor visitor management across all sites
  • Respond and dispatch on-site Security Officers, to emergencies, and assist both the client and police/fire response as needed.
  • Pass on information to on-shift officers, dispatch officers to incidents, and receive information from officers.
  • Contact the Client and give information to, and updates on, incidents.  The Operator will also understand when incidents require a direct call to the Client, or when an e-mail would be the preferred communication method by the Client
  • Contact 911 as needed for police or fire/rescue response for incidents.
  • Take Callouts from Security Officers, use the Scheduling Program to determine whom can be contacted to cover open shifts, and then updated the schedules to reflect the changes made.
  • Make decisions on how to respond to on-going incidents without the direct input of Per Mar or the Client’s Security Management teams.
  • Directly interface with both Per Mar and the Client’s Security Management teams on a semi-daily basis, using phone, e-mail, and the Client’s internal messaging system.  They will also be responsible for making sure instructions from both management teams are followed by on-shift officers.
  • Thoroughly document alarms and incidents in both Daily Activity Reports (DAR) and Incident Reports (IR).  The Operator will also make regular, and efficient, use of the Daily Pass Down Log to ensure all information needed by their relieving Operator is relayed between shifts.

Qualifications:

  • 18 years of age or older
  • Valid driver's license
  • Extensive customer service, call center, or relevant corporate communications experience is occasionally accepted in lieu of security-specific backgrounds
  • 1 to 3+ years in security operations, public sector dispatch, law enforcement, or a military occupational specialty
  • Strong attention to detail, strong problem-solving and analytical skills to assess threats and dispatch emergency personnel independently
  • Ability to remain composed, speak clearly, and issue emergency directions under high stress

  • Must be willing to participate in the Company's pre-employment screening process, including drug screen and background investigation.
