Opportunity:  Security Supervisor

Supervise the safety and security of our hotel guests while supporting all the functions of the security operations team.

Essential Job Functions

  • Interview, select, train, schedule, coach and support associates, ensuring they perform in accordance with established brand or hotel standards and consistent with HHM core values.
  • Support security operations through deterring losses attributed to external and internal theft via observation, suppression, and contact law enforcement when required.
  • Maintain both written and verbal communications with the Director of Security and supervise other security staff members.
  • Recommend hiring and disciplinary actions, conduct employee evaluations and delegate work assignments.
  • Confirm presence and activities of scheduled security officers.
  • Identify and notify replacement personnel to assume vacant security officer assignments.
  • Review documentation, activity and security officer reports.
  • Provide officer back-up when investigating irregularities.
  • Respond to alarm notifications.
  • Submit periodic reports to management regarding activities, irregularities, and identify needed action.
  • Work outside scheduled hours to ensure consistent coverage, attends training classes, meetings, and other activities as needed to meet the business needs of the security department.
  • Assume on-call duty as assigned, responding to security needs and reporting to duty as necessary.
  • Assist with evacuation/emergency training and processes.
  • Apply basic addition, multiplication, and division skills daily.
  • Obtain valid CPR and First Aid certifications.

Position Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 2+ years of security experience or 2+ years military experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.

Work Environment and Context

  • Occasionally required to sit, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
  • Must frequently lift and/or move up to 20 pounds; and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus.
  • Work rotating shifts, night shifts, and/or overtime and may include holidays and weekends. Depending on the season, hours may be reduced at any time.
