Position Description:
The Security Manager is responsible for managing, coordinating, and enforcement of security operations across the enterprise. Will assist in oversight of security logistics and operations across Shaw Industries Group, Inc. This role ensures the protection of employees, contractors, visitors, assets, and property through effective leadership risk management, and compliance with company policies and security standards. This individual will report directly to Director of Security for Shaw Industries.
Responsibilities:
  • Develop, implement, and oversee security strategies and protocols to protect Shaw's personnel, assets, and information, including managing security personnel and responding to security incidents.

  • Ability to design and implement security improvement by using more advanced technologies including camera systems, access control, and possibly AI systems.

  • Manage access control systems, surveillance equipment and other security technologies to ensure proper functioning and effectiveness.

  • Provide guidance on the design, development, assessment, and implementation of physical security policies to ensure they are following compliance with applicable regulations, best practice standards, and the strategic imperatives of the company.

  • Conduct detailed security assessments and vulnerability assessments and develop action plans for reducing security gaps.

  • Develop emergency action plans.

  • Manage performance and conduct regular evaluations on contract security officers.

  • Ability to conduct thorough security investigations and assist HR with any other investigations.

  • Assist in hostile or potentially hostile terminations.

  • Possess good communication skills to work with outside contractors and Shaw internal customers.

  • Able to communicate clear expectation to Shaw internal customers.

  • Build rapport with outside police agencies and utilize outside agencies in the course of investigations.

  • Monitor and stay informed with the latest security threats and best practices.

  • Maintain knowledge of changes in security regulations and standards.

  • Collaborate with internal departments, such as Human Resources and IT, to ensure compliance with security protocols and standards.

  • Investigate security breaches, incidents, and violations. Document findings and implement corrective actions.

  • Educate associates on security awareness, policies, and procedures through training programs and communication initiatives.

  • Willing to be on call 24/7.

  • Willing to travel, as needed, and on short notice.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • 10 years experience in security management, law enforcement, or the armed forces, with a strong understanding of security principles and practices.

  • In depth knowledge of security technologies, incident management software, and other security-related equipment, such as access control systems and IP camera systems.

  • Familiarity with state laws, regulations, and industry standards pertaining to security.

  • Excellent leadership and management skills, with the ability to lead and motivate a diverse security team.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with individuals at all levels of the organization.

  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion and integrity.

  • Physical fitness and the ability to respond quickly and effectively in emergencies.

Preferred Skills:
  • Relevant professional certifications in security management or related areas.
