Job description

Overview

This role is at Spirit AeroSystems, Inc. a wholly owned subsidiary of The Boeing Company, supporting Spirit’s Commercial Business Units (“Spirit Commercial”). Spirit Commercial designs and builds commercial aerostructures for Boeing Commercial Airplanes, one of Boeing’s three business units and the premier manufacturer of commercial jetliners for decades. Spirit Commercial’s core products include fuselages, pylons, nacelles and wing components, with a focus on innovative composite and aluminum manufacturing solutions.


Responsibilities

Position Responsibilities:

  • Manages, mentors, and trains a growing team of uniformed security professionals responsible for physical security services that affect all staff levels and departments, visitors, and vendors. 
  • Works cross-functionally with other managers, security personnel, human resources, legal, finance, and external law enforcement to ensure consistent application of safety policies and procedures throughout all shifts. 
  • Develops, administers, and provides physical security services for the purpose of safeguarding people, the environment, property, and information, consistent with company or government requirements.
  • Responsible for access control, patrol, emergency communication and response, and traffic and parking enforcement.
  • Assists in the investigations of reported incidents.
  • Controls access to company facilities; issues access cards; arranges visitor escorts; controls removal of company property; patrols property and classified areas; responds to alarms and emergencies and directs evacuations; resolves conflicts; issues security citations; identifies potentially hazardous situations; and prepares reports.
  • Plans and provides protection for important visitors and special functions.
  • Ensures compliance with written policies and procedures in all phases of company operations.
  • Interfaces with government agencies, local and federal law enforcement, and with security and fire protection management, company management and employees, customers, vendors, and suppliers to ensure understanding of and compliance with company rules and regulations.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • 5 or more years of managing, leading, or supervising physical security professionals.

  • Competency with the Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • The ability to build successful relationships with a diverse community of internal staff and external contacts, including executive leadership.

  • Must be able and willing to work any shift, as well as irregular hours, weekends, holidays, and evenings. 

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Professional experience in Law Enforcement, Military, or Security.
  • Enough relevant experience to quickly master and manage the processes, policies, and activities required to ensure safety and fulfill company and government regulations.
  • Ability to obtain a U.S. Secret Security Clearance (for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship)
