The Opportunity

The Security Operations Specialist supports the organization's Global / Corporate Security function by assisting with executive protection activities, managing contract security services, maintaining and improving physical security procedures, and conducting threat, vulnerability, and risk assessments (TVRAs). This role works closely with internal stakeholders, including Human Resources, Facilities, Legal, Safety, and business leadership, to reduce risk to personnel, facilities, and operations. Periodic domestic and international travel may be required.

This position is wellsuited for a security professional transitioning from operational or field roles into a broader corporate security and risk management environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Security Operations & Programs
    • Support the Executive Protection (EP) program, including advance support, site assessments, coordination with internal and external partners, and administrative program upkeep.
    • Assist in the development, review, and periodic update of physical security policies, procedures, and post orders to ensure alignment with organizational standards and risk posture.
    • Support incident response activities related to physical security, workplace violence concerns, and protective operations, including documentation and afteraction reviews.
  • Contract Security Management
    • Assist with oversight of contract security providers, including guard force operations, performance monitoring, and compliance with post orders and service expectations.
    • Participate in site reviews, inspections, and audits of contract security services to ensure consistency and effectiveness.
    • Coordinate with vendors and internal stakeholders on security coverage changes, special events, and emerging risks.
  • Threat, Vulnerability, and Risk Assessment
    • Conduct or support physical security assessments and Threat, Vulnerability, and Risk Assessments (TVRAs) for offices, facilities, and project locations.
    • Identify gaps in physical, procedural, or operational controls and recommend practical mitigation measures based on risk.
    • Support maintenance of risk, threat, and asset documentation and registers where applicable.
  • Internal Liaison & HR Support
    • Liaise with Human Resources on securityrelated matters, including employee terminations, restraining orders, workplace concerns, and sensitive employee issues.
    • Provide security input to HRled processes involving employee safety, misconduct investigations, or threat management.
    • Collaborate with Facilities, IT, Safety, Legal, and business leaders to ensure coordinated security planning and response.
  • Reporting, Documentation & Training
    • Prepare clear written reports, assessments, and briefings for security leadership and internal partners.
    • Assist with development or delivery of basic security awareness, workplace violence prevention, or procedural training as assigned.
    • Maintain accurate records related to assessments, incidents, and security program activities.
  • Intelligence Analysis 
    • Support security intelligence activities by collecting, analyzing, and synthesizing information from internal reporting, opensource, and trusted external sources to identify emerging threats and trends.
    • Produce clear, actionable intelligence inputs to support threat, vulnerability, and risk assessments (TVRAs), executive protection planning, and security decisionmaking.
    • Assist in preparing security advisories, briefings, and written assessments for security leadership and internal stakeholders, translating complex threat information into practical risk implications.
    • Maintain situational awareness of geopolitical, criminal, activist, and insiderrelated risks that may impact personnel, facilities, travel, or operations, and escalate concerns as appropriate.
  • Teamwork, Communication & Cultural Effectiveness
    • Demonstrates strong teamwork and collaboration skills, working effectively with Global Security colleagues, internal partners, and external stakeholders to achieve shared security objectives.
    • Communicates clearly and professionally in both written and verbal formats, tailoring messages to technical and nontechnical audiences and supporting informed decisionmaking.
    • Works effectively across diverse cultures, nationalities, and regional norms, demonstrating cultural awareness and adaptability in global security operations and engagements.

  • Familiarity with corporate environments, global operations, or EPC / industrial settings.
  • Exposure to workplace violence prevention, insider risk, or employee safety programs.
  • Relevant certifications or progress toward certification (e.g., ASIS CPP, PSP, APP, or similar).
  • Foreign Language proficiency is a plus. 
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in security management, criminal justice, emergency management, risk management, or a related field or equivalent professional experience.
  • 3-7 years of experience in physical security, corporate security, military, law enforcement, or protective services roles.
  • Working knowledge of physical security principles, access control, guard force operations, and risk assessment concepts.
  • Strong English speaking and writing skills required.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally across all organizational levels.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment, discretion, and professionalism when handling sensitive or confidential matters.
Work Environment/Physical Demands
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally on an asneeded basis.
  • Willingness to work occasional nonstandard hours in support of incidents, executive travel, or special events.
