Job description

Lieutenant 1

First Coast Security Solutions is seeking a Lieutenant 1 to support the Federal Protective Service (FPS) Heartland Region contract Kansas City, MO and surrounding areas. This position is responsible for overseeing the daily operations. The ideal candidate provides leadership and ensures compliance requirements and maintains staffing.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of assigned officers in the assigned area and make sure all contract requirements are met.
  • Coordinate staffing and assist with scheduling as needed.
  • Ensure officers are properly trained and maintain all required certifications and licenses.
  • Conduct quality control inspections.
  • Maintain employee files, certifications, reports, and required contract documentation.
  • Assist with equipment, uniforms, supplies, permits and other operational needs.
  • Manage and prioritize multiple tasks while meeting deadlines.
  • Prepare reports for management.
  • Respond to emergencies.
  • Review reports, inspections, and documentation for accuracy.
  • Assist with interviews and support recruiting efforts.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Must receive and maintain a favorable Enter on Duty (EOD) or fitness determination.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong written, verbal, organizational, and leadership skills.
  • Must possess CPR/First Aid and AED certification.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain all contract-required certifications and clearances.

Experience

  • Minimum of two (2) years of supervisory experience.
  • Candidates must also have one of the following: two (2) years of armed security experience, one (1) year of full-duty law enforcement experience, or two (2) years of honorable military service.

Working Conditions

  • Work is performed field, and office settings.
  • Frequent standing, walking, bending and driving between assigned locations.
  • Must be able to lift, carry and move up to 25-50 lbs. as needed.
  • Must be able to work flexible schedules including days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays based on operational needs.
  • Frequent travel throughout the Heartland Region.
