Job description

Our cybersecurity and information security teams at IDEXX contribute to a more resilient, adaptable, and security-aware enterprise prepared to navigate today's evolving threat landscape. We have complex, multi-dimensional programs across the organization that support all the technology needed to deliver products and solutions to customers - enabling them to focus on delivering high quality patient care.
Join us for this 12 week Security Operations Internship at IDEXX! You'll be joining a security operations team that handles incident response, AppSec (Application Security), vulnerability management and security architecture.
Location: Please note that we will only consider individuals driving distance to our Westbrook, Maine HQ where you will have the option to work hybrid.
In this internship role you would...
  • You will participate in real-world cyber security incident response, tabletop incident response programs, triaging and appropriately tasking or dealing with alerts yourself, with the guidance of the team.
  • You will be assisting with investigations of security alerts
  • You will research vulnerabilities and new threats
  • You will provide feedback to the team on current trends in threat analysis and threat intelligence

Day-to-day asks are likely to include:
  • You would start your day with a meeting with the team reviewing the tasks ahead
  • You would work from the alert intake, reviewing the previous days' alerts
  • You will run the alert through the incident response playbook, laying out a step by step guide of what to do.
  • You will also receive hands-on training and mentorship with the senior members of the alert intake team

Ideal skills for this role include:
  • Critical thinking skills
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity risks
  • Experience with cybersecurity solutions and a strong academic background in IT

Requirements for the role include:
  • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program majoring in cybersecurity
  • Applicants must be at least 18 years of age and must have completed at least one year of college.
  • A track record of student success and potential as demonstrated by GPA, research portfolio, prior work experiences and/or the recommendation of a professor preferred.
  • Location: we are looking for someone local to our Westbrook, Maine HQ that can work on-site on a hybrid basis.
  • it's a plus if you have had experience with other cybersecurity/infosec internships, but not required.
