MSD is looking for a Fire & Security Installation Assistant to join our team!

As a Fire & Security Installation Assistant, you'll gain hands-on experience installing fire alarms, security systems, surveillance cameras, access control systems, and network cabling for commercial and industrial facilitiesโ€”all while receiving the training and mentorship needed to grow into a licensed technician.

About the Role

The Fire & Security Installation Assistant works alongside an experienced Lead Technician to install, service, and maintain commercial fire alarm, security, camera, and access control systems. This is an excellent entry-level opportunity for someone looking to develop technical skills, earn an Ohio Fire Alarm License, and build a long-term career in the fire and security industry.

QUALIFICATIONS AND GENERAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalentย 
  • Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn a skilled tradeย 
  • Strong work ethic and positive attitudeย 
  • Ability to take direction and work well as part of a teamย 
  • Excellent communication skillsย 
  • Strong attention to detailย 
  • Dependable and safety-focusedย 
  • Valid, unrestricted U.S. driver's licenseย 
  • U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident

Job Duties:

  • Assist with the installation and service of commercial fire alarm systemsย 
  • Help install and troubleshoot security systems, surveillance cameras, and access control equipmentย 
  • Install and support network and fiber optic cablingย 
  • Learn proper installation techniques and industry best practices from experienced techniciansย 
  • Ensure all work is completed safely, accurately, and efficientlyย 
  • Test systems to verify proper operation before project completionย 
  • Maintain accurate documentation including labor, materials, and service recordsย 
  • Attend training sessions and technical meetings to continue developing your skillsย 
  • Work toward obtaining and maintaining your Ohio Fire Alarm Licenseย
