The Aerospace Corporation is seeking a Security Specialist III/IV. This role is responsible for supporting compliance with Department of Defense (DoD), Department of Energy (DOE), and Intelligence Community (IC) directives and policies.
The Security Specialist primary focus will be Personnel Security and Physical Security as well as other ad-hoc security related functions and will act as a liaison between Aerospace Program Management and government agencies/customers, addressing program security requirements.
The selected candidate will be required to work full-time, on-site at our facility in Albuquerque, NM.
What you will be doing
  • Administers, executes, and ensures adherence to company and government regulations, policies, and procedures regarding the protection of government programs
  • Ensuring successful security and safety programs are in place by implementing programs for protecting classified and unclassified sensitive information and collaborates with other security personnel across the enterprise.
  • Processing security clearances and accesses
  • Processing visit requests via IC community and DISS
  • Conducts self-inspections/audits in compliance with government regulations.
  • Updates fixed facility checklists and compartmented area checklists to attain and maintain accreditations.
  • Reviews and assists in the development of security policies, and procedures to support operations

What You Need to be Successful
Minimum Requirements for Security Specialist III:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent and 3 years of experience.
  • Current TS/SCI eligibility and U.S. citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance.
  • Experience in processing collateral clearances and SCI and or SAP nominations.
  • Previous experience or knowledge of ICD-705.
  • Working knowledge of personnel security and physical security practices including access control systems, badge management, intrusion detection systems, visitor control, and facility protection protocols.
  • Must possess strong organizational skills, be detail oriented and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Effective interpersonal skills to coordinate efforts and work with other internal and external organizations. Must work well in a team environment.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.

In addition to the above, the minimum requirements for the Security Specialist IV include:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent and 3-5 years of experience.
  • Direct experience supporting Department of Energy (DOE) or Department of Defense (DoD) security functions.
  • Working knowledge of government security databases such as DISS, Scattered Castles, TALON, JADE, or CPCI.
  • Experience as an FSO or similar type position.
  • Experience or Knowledge with Fixed Facility and TEMPEST Checklists.

How You Can Stand Out
It would be impressive if you have one or more of the these:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree from an accredited college.
  • Current Q or TS/SCI with adjudicated poly.
  • FSO Certification.
  • Experience supporting SCI or Special Access Programs (SAPs).
  • Familiarity with SCIF or SAP Security Plans, Concept of Operations (CONOPS), and Fixed Facility Checklists.
  • Strong understanding of accreditation and inspection readiness
  • Experience with ICD-705 and Accreditation.
