Job description

Excelsior Defense is now accepting applications for professional Unarmed Security Officers for our open positions at one of our V.A locations in Albuquerque! As an employee for a federal contract, officers are paid a base wage of $16.20 per hour and ALSO make an ADDITIONAL $4.57 per hour that is disburse through a 401(a) savings account or can be disburse towards medical insurance.

We have FT swing shifts (1500-2300, WED-SUN) available; veterans or retirees are encouraged to apply for this position!

Must have a valid unarmed security guard license within the state of New Mexico

Must complete background check, finger printing and drug screening in order to gain employment on a federal site. (This is done by Excelsior Defense once selected for employment.)

Responsibilities

  • Protect company's property and staff by maintaining a safe and secure environment
  • Observe for signs of crime or disorder and investigate disturbances
  • Act lawfully in direct defense of life or property
  • Apprehend criminals and evict violators
  • Take accurate notes of unusual occurrences
  • Report in detail any suspicious incidents
  • Patrol randomly or regularly building and perimeter
  • Monitor and control access at building entrances and vehicle gates
  • Watch alarm systems or video cameras and operate detecting/emergency equipment
  • Perform first aid or CPR

Skills

  • Proven work experience as a security guard or relevant position
  • Valid Class D Security License active with the State of Florida
  • Ability to operate detecting systems and emergency equipment
  • Excellent knowledge of public safety and security procedures/protocols
  • Surveillance skills and detail orientation
